To celebrate the release of their latest album Love Goes, Sam Smith returned to the iconic Abbey Road Studios for a world exclusive livestreamed performance. For this exclusive show, Sam sang tracks old and new including Stay With Me, Lay Me Down, as well as treating viewers to the world premiere of new music from their eagerly anticipated 3rd album, Love Goes, including Diamonds. Special guest performances from co-collaborators, including Labrinth, who features on the Love Goes title track.

On 6 October 2017, Smith announced his second album titled "The Thrill of it All" through his online Twitter account was to be released on 3 November 2017. It is Smith's second full album of material after his hugely successful debut album In the Lonely Hour in 2014, which has sold twenty four million copies worldwide, and has received a number of sales certifications in lots of different countries.

Crystals is a 1974 album by saxophonist Sam Rivers, originally released on ABC Impulse. The album has Fred Kelly, Joe Ferguson, Roland Alexander, Paul Jeffrey, Sinclair Acey, Ted Daniel, Richard Williams, Charles Majeed Greenlee, Charles Stephens, Joe Daley, Gregory Maker, Warren Smith, and Harold Smith joining him on this recording produced by Ed Michel. This CD was released by the Verve Music Group in 2002.

For guitarist/composer/bandleader/educator Perry Smith, standards are an integral part of his life as a musician, accompanying him on the ups and downs of life, providing a landscape for him to explore, and improvise on, from his heart. Smith elaborates, “I had been interested in recording a trio album of standards to really draw the listener in through classic melodies, dynamics and the natural sound of my Gibson ES-175. Using a traditional archtop hollow body, my style of jazz guitar can really work with a sensitive and swinging rhythm section like Schnelle and Minaie. I chose to record a variety of standards that have meant a lot to me over the years, and what I discovered is that as my own life experiences have unfolded, my connection to these songs, and what I have to offer musically has only gotten deeper. It leaves me with an immense amount of gratitude for these standards.”
