Ask anyone around the Austin-San Marcos-San Antonio area who’s in the know in their scene, and whether they like it or not, they’ll probably tell you psychedelic rock. In the last few years, bands like The Halfways and the Roaring Sun have cropped up with a new brand of Texas neo-psychedelia. This movement, as far as this reviewer can tell, seems to be due to the pervasiveness at the moment of neo-psych music in indie-rock in general. With Australian bands like Tame Impala, King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard, Pond, as well as American bands like Thee Oh Sees and The Black Angels all coming into prominence in the last ten years, we should have seen this coming.

Singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Terri Hendrix specializes in a contemporary folk that embraces country, pop, blues, and other influences. Born and raised in San Antonio, Texas, she left home to attend Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene on a vocal scholarship before transferring to Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos. While there she came under the influence of a local philanthropist, Marion Williamson, who owned a property in Hye, Texas called Wilory Farm. In exchange for working on the farm, Hendrix received voice and guitar lessons from Williamson and developed a friendship with her that lasted until Williamson's death from cancer in 1997.

The Edwards Aquifer in south-central Texas is the primary source of water for one of the fastest growing cities in the United States, San Antonio, and it also supplies irrigation water to thousands of farmers and livestock operators. It is also is the source water for several springs and rivers, including the two largest freshwater springs in Texas that form the San Marcos and Comal Rivers.

La Pingo’s Orquesta es una agrupación musical formada en el año 2012 en Aguascalientes, México. Surge de las calles de la ciudad, donde era común verle tocar en plazas y banquetas del Centro Histórico. Sus integrantes, eclécticos, han rondado por diferentes vertientes sonoras, recorriendo la percusión clásica, la música de cámara, el tango argentino, la música balcánica; pasando por el rock, el jazz manouche, el swing y el folclor latinoamericano hasta llegar a La Pingo’s Orquesta, una fusión de estos estilos con la firma propia de la banda en un contexto donde la improvisación hace que los diversos temas se regeneren en cada presentación. Integrada por Gerardo Castmu (Guitarra), Edgar Estrada (Clarinete), Yarib Bautista (Violín), Marco Gregoire (Contrabajo), Claudio Gardea (Batería) y José Guadalupe Lara (Trompeta).
