San Pablo

Freelance trumpeter Erik Jekabson lives in the area around the bay of San Francisco. He plays and composes for various bands, and leads his own group. In addition, he teaches at the Young Musicians Program at the California Jazz Conservatory. Erik has released six CDs, and arranged for vocalists such as Madeleine Peyroux, Ani DiFranco, Jane Krakowski, Jackie Ryan, Kenny Washington, Madeline Eastman, Kellye Gray, Sandy Cressman, Raz Kennedy, Rachel Efron, and instrumental ensembles such as San Francisco Symphony, Utah Symphony, Stanford Jazz Orchestra, Realistic Orchestra, California State University East Bay Jazz Ensemble, SF Composers Orchestra and his own Electric Squeezebox Orchestra.

This 1977 A&M LP is quintessential '70s soft rock. The San Francisco group reached #19 with this easygoing blend of pop, rock, jazz and country: their hits Whatcha Gonna Do?; A Place in the Sun; Never Had a Love , and more!

«PABLO» —Pablo San José— nació en la ciudad marroquí de Larache hace 45 años, aunque realmente aparenta menos edad, según sus íntimos. Como casi todos los españoles, fue estudiante de bachiller y oficinista, labor ésta en que, muy a pesar suyo, estuvo luengos años sudando tinta. Como fruto de sus experiencias en los ambientes de oficinas, decidió aligerar su cruz por vía del humor, creando la «oficina siniestra» en la revista La Codorniz. También ha hecho populares a Doña Úrsula, colegialas uniformadas, soldados, mariscales, curas-obreros, parias, enanitos y un gitano que lleva un oso. Dibuja desde que tiene uso de razón, lo cual es un decir. En la actualidad, ya liberado del Debe y el Haber, hace «monos» para La voz social, Autopista, Siembra y la citada Codorniz (donde ingresó en 1956), y su firma ha aparecido en casi todas las publicaciones españolas.
