The album title originally called "The Art of Letting Go", is based upon a self-portrait Carey drew when she was a child. It is supposed to symbolize how she saw herself, with the purity of a child's heart before it was ever broken. Me. I Am Mariah features artists Nas, Miguel, Wale and Fabulous, as well as Mariah's twins Morroccan and Monroe. This deluxe version also features appearances by Mary J. Blige and R. Kelly performing songs from Carey's previous album Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel. The album produced three singles, including "Beautiful", "The Art of Letting Go" and "You're Mine (Eternal)".
