The Virgin Years 1977-1983 is the follow-up to last year's The Virgin Years 1974-1978 (see review) by Tangerine Dream (TD). The latter album was a 3CD-box set comprising the five remastered albums TD recorded for Virgin Records between 1974 and 1978: Phaedra (1974), Rubycon (1975), Ricochet (1975), Stratosfear (1976) and Cyclone (1978) plus a selection of rare single releases, 7-inch edits as well as two rarely heard radio adverts. However, it didn't contain Encore, originally released in 1977. The follow-up to this previous release contains seven albums plus two singles all packed on a 5CD-album set.

5th studio album presents Genesis at their creative peak. Contains 'Firth of Fifth' with famous Hackett's guitar solo. The album cover is a painting by Betty Swanwick called 'The Dream'. The original artwork did not feature a lawn mower; the band had Swanwick add it later as an allusion to the song "I Know What I Like."

Stratosfear is the eighth major release and seventh studio album by the German group Tangerine Dream. The LP reached No.39 in the UK, in a 4-week chart run, and eventually reached silver status for selling in excess of 60,000 copies (£100,000+).

Recorded and released in 1973, Selling England By the Pound is in my opinion Genesis's best album. It is certainly my favorite. It is a lament for a lost England that was becoming increasingly commercialized. Peter Gabriel and Steve Hackett were still in the band. All the songs were co-written by the group. The musicians were still relatively young. Gabriel was 23 and Phil Collins was 22.
