Pitot was best known for both arranging and composing the music for Hanya Holm, Jerome Robbins and Michael Kidd, and Broadway musical pieces including "Kiss Me, Kate", "Shangri La" and "Li'l Abner." She composed for Helen Tamiris, Agnes de Mille, Donald Saddler.
