Carly's classic comeback album celebrates turning 30 with a deluxe edition curated by the lady herself… Carly Simon first burst on to the pop scene in 1971. By the mid-'80s, Simon's album sales had declined and she felt less relevant in the marketplace. That all changed when Clive Davis signed her to Arista Records, which had already restored the commercial fortunes of both Dionne Warwick and Aretha Franklin. Simon's first release on the label was her 1986 single "Coming Around Again" which was the theme song from the movie Heartburn starring Meryl Streep and Jack Nicholson. The single made #18, returning Simon to the Billboard top 20 for the first time in six years. The song also made #5 on the AC chart, and went on to make the top ten in the UK and Ireland. Coming Around Again followed in April 1987 with production from the likes of Paul Samwell-Smith, Frank Filipetti, John Boylan and Richard Perry and made #25 in both the US and UK. Hot Shot Records' deluxe edition of Coming Around Again features 17 bonus tracks and an in-depth interview with Carly.

"Another Passenger" is singer-songwriter Carly Simon's 7th album, and 6th studio album, released in 1976. For this album, Simon enlisted a new producer, Ted Templeman, as well as his clients, The Doobie Brothers, to provide backing vocals. "Another Passenger" peaked at #29 on the Billboard Pop albums chart. The lead single "It Keeps You Runnin'" peaked at #46 on the Pop singles chart and #27 on the Adult Contemporary chart, while the second single "Half A Chance" appeared only on the Adult Contemporary chart, peaking at #39. Despite the lukewarm commercial reception, the album was, and remains, one of Simon's best reviewed works.

Simon-Pierre Bestion has chosen to mirror two Stabat Mater that are more than 150 years apart: "in these two works I can feel the same tonal language, the same expression of sorrow" says the founder of La Tempête… "I have decided to ‘augment’ Scarlatti’s orchestration and ‘diminish’ Dvořák’s, so they can meet on even ground. To the Scarlatti I have added string parts sometimes doubling the vocal lines, colla parte , as was often done at the period: this not only allows the sound to be amplified, but adds an extra timbre to the voice.

The most successful folk-rock duo of the 1960s, Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel crafted a series of memorable hit albums and singles featuring their choirboy harmonies, ringing acoustic and electric guitars, and Simon's acute, finely wrought songwriting. The pair always inhabited the more polished end of the folk-rock spectrum and was sometimes criticized for a certain collegiate sterility. Many also feel that Simon, as both a singer and songwriter, didn't truly blossom until he began his own hugely successful solo career in the 1970s. But the best of S&G's work can stand among Simon's best material, and the duo did progress musically over the course of their five albums, moving from basic folk-rock productions into Latin rhythms and gospel-influenced arrangements that foreshadowed Simon's eclecticism on his solo albums.
