The recording was widely received, topping countless year-end lists including NPR and Rolling Stone magazine. The album debuted at #2 on the Billboard Top 200 and won the guitar-and-drum duo three GRAMMY Awards. This psychedelic blues-rock fusion featured the hit singles “Tighten Up” and “Howlin’ For You.” Stomping with stellar guitar work and immaculate phrasing, the album broke ground for the bluesy duo.

By the time the Rolling Stones began calling themselves the World's Greatest Rock & Roll Band in the late '60s, they had already staked out an impressive claim on the title.
