When he played his revamp of Gwen McCrae's "Funky Sensation" during a 1981 DJ slot on New York's WBLS, Shep Pettibone perked the ears of then-emergent producer Arthur Baker. The presenter and co-producer of this boxed set consequently initiated a collaboration on the answer record "Jazzy Sensation," the first 12" crediting Pettibone. By the end of the next year, Pettibone's solo "mastermixes" had become so numerous and prized that a dozen for the Prelude label alone were rounded up for commercial release on double vinyl. The DJ and remix artist soon diversified as a pop producer, most notably as an indispensable Madonna associate. The four-disc Classic 12" Master-Mixes features neither "Funky Sensation" nor "Jazzy Sensation," and doesn't include anything Pettibone did for Prelude or with Madonna.

A true musical journeyman, Jesse Terry has made it his mission to share his love of music fully and completely, without regard for shading his emotions or tempering his convictions. By his own definition, he’s never been a cautious individual, but rather one who finds inspiration and optimism in the solace and joy making music brings him; and that which he can impart to others. In that regard, his artistic quest has become satisfying and self-fulfilling.

Ever since their first release in 2011, there’s been a great deepness and complex mystery to Golden Fable’s music. Stirring up feelings of exhilaration and sadness while immersing you in a bath of sonic stimulation. It’s the sort of soundtrack you’d want to call upon while gazing upon an open horizon “captive to your thoughts” proclaim the lyrics on song ‘Hold True’, or intentionally getting lost in an ancient wood as seen in the music video for recent single ‘Finery’ which premiered on Folk Radio. This music has a primal timeless existence, classically beautiful but with a contemporary production, new album Alchemy is brilliantly fresh.
