Stereo No – 2018

CelLocomotion, a solo cello album created in 2018, is a journey through centuries of music from the past up to the present. Works from the album range from composers Domenico Gabrielli to recently composed works by the artist himself, Khari Joyner. Featured in this trailer are two excerpts from "PetrolMusic" (2017) and Évanescent Éclairs (2018), both blending elements of music from the past with musical styles of today.

Wu MuYe has been awarded prizes including the “Best Audience Award” in the Piano Campus Competition on European Piano Day, the “Grand Award” of the French Classical Magazine, and the “Top Prize” in the 2005 European Young Pianist Contest. This performance features works by Schubert.

We are well acquainted with Yoann Loustalot, notably through the quartet Lucky Dog which he co-directs with saxophonist Frédéric Borey and who will present his second album, recorded live at the Pelzer Jazz Club on February 21st. But the trumpet player trained at the Conservatories of Versailles and Bordeaux also continues a long journey with the pianist François Chesnel who studied at the Conservatory of Caen. Kurt Weil Project, latest reflections in 2012 and, in 2015, flake-shaped pieces recorded in trio, followed. Here are the two friends in quartet with two experienced musicians.

Naked Giants released their debut album SLUFF on March 30th, 2018. The 12-song set was produced by Steve Fisk (Nirvana, Unwound, Soundgarden) and is the Seattle trio’s follow up to their 2016 R.I.P. EP, whose songs Stereogum described as “…hulking behemoths that channel classic rock bravado into something blistering and immediate.” SLUFF swirls with hyperactive restlessness as 1960s harmonies share space with 1970s riffs while at the same time battling an undercurrent of punk rock and modern indie influences.

Portland-based singer/songwriter Matt Alber is currently touring his 4th self-produced studio album entitled, Wind Sand Stars. The album features original pop/folk art songs rooted in melody with vocals reminiscent of Rufus Wainwright, Iron & Wine, and John Grant.
