Arctic plains. Shimmering glaciers. Far-reaching steppes. A one-of-a-kind instrument that perfectly captures the spirit of these rough, untamed and raw landscapes. An absolutely honest and atypical new sound that portrays scenes of fragile, cold isolation as perfectly as icy and unbridled power.

One of the most prolific and reliable names in instrumental easy listening music, the 101 Strings Orchestra has literally recorded hundreds of albums since its inception in 1957. Their trademark sound is built on a reverence for melody, pristine production, and a pleasant, relaxing ambience; while occasional albums have concentrated on brass, piano, guitars, and even mild rock & roll rhythms, the string section – true to the group's name – nearly always remains front and center, because of its lush, soothing sound qualities.

Having released their debut album In motion in 2020, the musicians that make up United Strings of Europe (USE) return with another innovative program: Renewal.

The 101 Strings Orchestra established a reputation as one of the finest ensembles in the easy listening genre. Yet the group actually never existed as a performing orchestra: it was a recording-only ensemble made up of musicians whose personnel often changed from one recording to the next. Moreover, many early albums released under the name 101 Strings were actually reissues of recordings made by such groups as the Rio Carnival Orchestra, New World Orchestra, and others. Under its now-familiar name, more than 100 recordings were issued by two labels – both of which owned the name, hired the players in the ensemble, and, most importantly, provided for the music arrangements that have been crucial to maintaining the orchestra's familiar sound – a dreamy, silken sound not dissimilar to that of Mantovani. Some 101 Strings' albums featured brass instruments, piano, and guitar, though the string section always remained the dominant part of the sonic fabric.

2007 digitally remastered two-fer from the Blues guitarist featuring a double dose of classic Winter on one shiny CD. Both albums were released during the height of his commercial success in 1974 and feature blistering Blues and Classic Rock in it's finest and most furious form.
