Massimo Faraò studied with Maestro Flavio Crivelli and began his career collaborating with musicians from the Genoa Area, especially with the bassist Piero Leveratto. In 1993, he was invited to the US to play with Red Holloway and Albert “Tootie” Heath on a West Coast tour. In the same year, he founded the “We love Jazz” workshop, now one of the biggest events in Europe for jazz teaching.
Richard Hyman is an American jazz pianist and composer. Over a 70-year career, he has worked as a pianist, organist, arranger, music director, electronic musician, and composer. He was named a National Endowment for the Arts Jazz Masters fellow in 2017. His grandson is designer and artist Adam Charlap Hyman.
Since 1945, Netherlands big-band the Metropole Orchestra (aka Metropole Orkest) has been globally renowned for their live and recorded performances of jazz, pop, electronic, classical, world, and avant-garde music; the orchestra is comprised of musicians from those genres and more.
Metropole Orkest and NPO Radio 2 Soul & Jazz once again join forces to present the Dutch Soul Jam II on Friday 26 February. This evening the orchestra will share the stage with amazing soloists such as Shirma Rouse, Paul van Kessel, Latanya Alberto, Ivan Peroti and Patty Lou. You can expect music from the likes of Eddie Harris, Stevie Wonder, Chaka Kahn and Marvin Gaye.
