+ The Mighty Issues #1-8 Complete

is a comic book limited series scheduled for 12 issues from writers Peter Tomasi and Keith Champagne, and published by DC Comics. It is a story of friendship and mystery based on the idea that our world has one superhero, known as Alpha-One, a soldier who developed powers during World War II. The Mighty follows the relationship Alpha-One develops with the man who leads his "clean-up crew," Section Omega. It is unique in that it is not tied into the DC Comics Universe and has its own continuity to follow. Many may have dismissed this series, which is too bad because it is much darker and more twisted than it appears; it uses our preconceptions about Superman--and the role of the superhuman hero--to subvert our expectations, and it tells a hell of an intriguing story. A good monthly read from Tomasi and company.

Superman’s effectiveness as a super hero comes into question when a new group of super powerful crusaders, known as “The Elite” appear on the scene, led by British public identity hero Manchester Black. As super heroes, the Elite know no bounds, and are more than willing to kill, even on a massive scale, to stop villainy - putting them on a collision course with the ever-ethical and decidedly non-lethal Man of Steel.

is a comic book series published by DC Comics from 1935 to 1983. It ran for 503 issues (471 of those after the title changed to ), making it the fifth-longest-running DC series, behind , , and . It was revived in 2009 by writer Geoff Johns with the Conner Kent incarnation of Superboy headlining the title's main feature, and the Legion of Super-Heroes in the back-up story. The first issue of the new run of Adventure Comics was released on August 12, 2009, and features watermarked numbering marking it as both #1 and #504, thus continuing the original numeration of the series concurrently with the volume 2 numeration. The indicia of the comic book also reflects this dual numbering. Prior to that, in February 2009 DC released Issue #0 which reprinted the first Superboy and the first Legion of Superheroes stories and included the Geoff Johns-written "Origins and Omens" story. That preview issue completely threw off an uptight reviewer at IGN who it seemed couldn't care less about the classic Silver Age reprints and who thought it was related to the Superman issue current at the time and the then upcoming Blackest Night event. That just goes to show how little "reviewers" sometimes know, for this title has now hordes of fans and an award as well.

By the late summer of 1963, Reprise Records — the independent record label founded by Frank Sinatra three years earlier — had run into a few financial difficulties, partly because the label hadn’t produced any major chart hits, and was purchased by Warner Bros. Morris “Mo” Ostin, Reprise’s vice-president and general manager, had brought in ""whiz kid"" producer Jimmy Bowen in 1963. Bowen’s main job, at least in the beginning, was to produce hits for some of the younger Reprise acts, including a brand-new recording artist, arranger/producer Jack Nitzsche. Those Bowen-produced Reprise singles, released under Jack Nitzsche’s own name between July 1963 and October 1965, were compiled together for the first time and released by Hanky Panky Records on “The Reprise Singles 1963-1965.”
