Thousands of miles and nearly a thousand shows later, Jhett and Callie Sioux finally got out of the van and back into the studio to lay down Gleewood's second full-length album. Their acoustic roots have been electrified and cranked up through scorching tubes to produce their most diverse and dynamic release yet. Gleewood graduates from the adolescence of their musical career in acoustic folk music to a firmly established, progressive folk rock band in today's Americana music scene.

Raised in the heart of New York City by two accomplished musical parents, singer-songwriter Sophie started studying piano at age three and first set foot in the studio at four. Her parents recall she was undaunted by the adult singers as she sat on the tallest stool to be close enough to the microphone: “…the headphones were bigger than her head!” She caught the harmony bug and began working extensively as a child jingle singer, featured on many TV/radio spots from GE and Hess Trucks to Six Flags and the Kidz Bop CD series.

Das Album wurde in bester Muscle-Shoals-Manier an einem Tag komplett arrangiert und eingespielt mit einer starken Band im Hintergrund. Spontaneität und Kreativität sowie musikalisches Geschick und Feeling kennzeichnen »Sweet Honey«, das ohne weiteres auch aus den 70er Jahren hätte stammen können.

Long acknowledged as Americas premiere folk guitarist, Arthel Lane Doc Watson was born in what was then the tiny rural community of Deep Gap, North Carolina in the heart of the Blue Ridge mountains on March 3, 1923. Surrounded by music and musicians, Doc and his siblings grew up listening to hymns, murder ballads and down home string band music, all of which would later find places in his own repertoire. In 1953, Doc formed a honky tonk dance band with pianist Jack Williams called Jack Williams and his Country Gentlemen.
