Syd Barrett

Barrett was the second and final studio album of new material released by former Pink Floyd member Syd Barrett. In February 1970, shortly after releasing his first album, The Madcap Laughs, Barrett appeared on John Peel's Top Gear radio show where he presented only one song from the newly released album. Two days later, he began working on his second album in the Abbey Road Studios, this time with Pink Floyd members David Gilmour and Richard Wright as producers and musicians.

Opel is a 1988 compilation album consisting of unreleased and alternative versions of previously released songs, recorded by former Pink Floyd frontman Syd Barrett between 1968 and 1970.

The Peel Sessions is a collection of recordings by Syd Barrett released in 1988. This EP contains the five songs he performed for the John Peel Show, recorded on February 24, 1970 and transmitted March 14 the same year.

Features both of his 1970 solo albums, 'Barrett' & 'TheMadcap Laughs', plus the 1989 rarities compilation 'Opel' with six bonus tracks added to it. 58 tracks total. Comes packaged in the original full color 6inch x 12 inch longbox & also contains a 24 page booklet. 1993 release.

The Madcap Laughs is the debut solo album by the English singer-songwriter Syd Barrett. It was recorded after Barrett had left Pink Floyd in April 1968. The album had a chequered recording history, with work beginning in mid-1968, but the bulk of the sessions taking place between April and July 1969, for which five different producers were credited − including Barrett, Peter Jenner (1968 sessions), Malcolm Jones (early-to-mid-1969 sessions), and fellow Pink Floyd members David Gilmour and Roger Waters (mid-1969 sessions). Among the guest musicians are Willie Wilson from (Gilmour's old band) Jokers Wild and Robert Wyatt of the band Soft Machine.
