Viral internet sensation Steve ‘N’ Seagulls are back! Their third album, Grainsville, will be released on August 31. It is preceded by lead single “Panama” – a “hillbillyfied” version of the Van Halen classic.

For his latest solo recording, acclaimed organist Simon Nieminski returns to Resonus with this pairing of two late organ works by the unjustly neglected twentieth-century French organist, pianist and composer Eugène Reuchsel.Both completed in the year before his death in 1988 these compelling collections, La Vie du Christ and Bouquet de France, sum up Reuchsel’s illustrious career as musician and composer and are here performed on the celebrated Rieger organ of St Giles’ Cathedral in Edinburgh.

Although much else has now been recorded, the piano music of the Dutch composer Hendrik Andriessen (1892-1981) largely remain to be discovered. This first conspectus of his piano music covers fifty years of composition. It shows how early influences among them Bach, Brahms, Franck, Hindemith and Ravel were subsumed into a musical language distinguished by its textural clarity and harmonic warmth. Five of the works in this album are receiving their first recording.

Antoinette Lohmann and Furor Musicus, always on the lookout for rare (but first rate!) repertoire, have now recorded a complete album of violin sonatas by Hellendaal, boasting as many as seven world premiere recordings, including a rousing hornpipe!

In her second Warner Classics album, entitled In Between, German-Italian pianist Sophie Pacini explores a fascinating series of personal and musical relationships: between Robert Schumann and Felix Mendelssohn; between Schumann and his wife Clara, and between Mendelssohn and his sister Fanny.
