Viral internet sensation Steve ‘N’ Seagulls are back! Their third album, Grainsville, will be released on August 31. It is preceded by lead single “Panama” – a “hillbillyfied” version of the Van Halen classic.

Firmly established as one of the world's greatest violinists, Renaud Capucon's career both on the stage and as a recording artist has spanned a wide gamut of concerto repertoire, chamber music and recitals. He has a reputation for impeccable performances and fine interpretations of classics and lesser-known repertoire, from his most recent albums with critically-acclaimed readings of the Bach Violin Concertos and the Vasks Violin Concerto, and a recital disc with Khatia Buniatishvili, to the Beethoven / Korngold and Brahms/Berg concertos, Renaud has become known for the breadth of his repertoire, his world-class chamber music partners, and the quality of is playing.

For his latest solo recording, acclaimed organist Simon Nieminski returns to Resonus with this pairing of two late organ works by the unjustly neglected twentieth-century French organist, pianist and composer Eugène Reuchsel.Both completed in the year before his death in 1988 these compelling collections, La Vie du Christ and Bouquet de France, sum up Reuchsel’s illustrious career as musician and composer and are here performed on the celebrated Rieger organ of St Giles’ Cathedral in Edinburgh.

Following its Linn debut which saw the ‘revitalisation of an iconic group’ (Choir & Organ), Gothic Voices presents The Dufay Spectacle, featuring special guest Andrew Lawrence-King.

Although much else has now been recorded, the piano music of the Dutch composer Hendrik Andriessen (1892-1981) largely remain to be discovered. This first conspectus of his piano music covers fifty years of composition. It shows how early influences among them Bach, Brahms, Franck, Hindemith and Ravel were subsumed into a musical language distinguished by its textural clarity and harmonic warmth. Five of the works in this album are receiving their first recording.

The German-Canadian Amadeus Guitar Duo and South German Duo Gruber & Maklar have known each other for many years from encounters at guitar and music festivals. Their love of varied programming prompted them to devise a concert featuring works for one, two and four guitars. Guitar Gala Night brings together the most beautiful works for guitar solo, duo and quartet in the European and Latin American guitar repertoire in a spirited evening of virtuosic, lyrical and expressive music.

The work of the Rotterdam-born Pieter Hellendaal (1721-1799) has so far not been widely played or recorded. Antoinette Lohmann and Furor Musicus, always on the lookout for rare (but first rate!) repertoire, have now recorded a complete album of violin sonatas by Hellendaal, boasting as many as seven world premiere recordings, including a rousing hornpipe!

"Whispering Leaves" is a new project from violoncellist Lucie Stepanova and pianist Ksenia Kouzmenko, featuring Czech music for cello and piano.

In her second Warner Classics album, entitled In Between, German-Italian pianist Sophie Pacini explores a fascinating series of personal and musical relationships: between Robert Schumann and Felix Mendelssohn; between Schumann and his wife Clara, and between Mendelssohn and his sister Fanny. Music by all four of them is complemented by Liszt's transcription of Schumann's glorious love song to Clara, 'Widmung'.

Formed in the early 1970s, The Residents have been charting a unique path through the musical landscape for over 45 years. From far-out, experimental recordings to highly conceptual, innovative multi-platform projects, the band has refused to stand still, and continues to move in several different directions at once. Produced with the involvement of The Cryptic Corporation, and with full access to the band’s extensive tape archive, this package explores and expands the classic debut album and related 1972-1973 material. Including both mono and stereo mixes of “Meet The Residents”, the ‘Santa Dog’ EP, alternate versions of classic album tracks and other long-lost unreleased material, this is The Residents as we’ve always wanted to hear them. Remastered, expanded, and pREServed for future generations – this is the first in a series of archival Residents reissues that will continue throughout 2018 and beyond.
