It encompasses many of the diverse themes of Christmas which have inspired composers across the ages: light shining in darkness; the tenderness of mother and child; the fulfilment of promise; and the warm merriment of corporate celebration. An excellent selection of contemporary carols features the composers Jonathan Dove and Bob Chilcott among others. The richness of twentieth-century church music is illustrated in works by Poulenc, Walton, Mathias and Leighton, and by the heartbreakingly lovely piece The little road to Bethlehem by Michael Head. Jimmy & The Boys were an Australian shock rock and new wave band, active from 1976 to 1982. They pioneered the use of shock theatrics in Australia with an act that revolved around vocalist and contortionist Ignatius Jones and transvestite keyboard player Joylene Thornbird Hairmouth. They had mild chart success with a cover of The Kinks' "I'm Not Like Everybody Else" and scored their only Australian top 10 single with the Tim Finn penned "They Won't Let My Girlfriend Talk to Me" which was supposedly written about an inmate in a mental institution. The group recorded two studio albums, Not Like Everybody Else (November 1979) and Teddy Boys Picnic (July 1981) and in 1982, shortly after issuing their live album In Hell with Your Mother, they disbanded.

Country star Gretchen Wilson has set a May 15 release date for her third album, "One of the Boys," which will be released by Columbia in the wake Epic Nashville's closure last year. Wilson co-produced the 11-track set with Mark Wright and her Muzik Mafia mate John Rich of Big & Rich. Rich also guests on first single "Come To Bed," which has thus far topped out at No. 32 on Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart. The new album is the follow-up to 2005's "All Jacked Up," which has sold 1.2 million copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
