Il se trouve également, sans le savoir, en possession d'une cassette qu'une femme a jetée dans la sacoche de sa Mobylette avant d'être assassinée. Jules échappe à ses poursuivants - des flics et des voyous sur la piste de la cassette - grâce à Gorodish et Alba qui l'hébergent. Entre deux courses éperdues, il aura trouvé le temps de se faire aimer de Cynthia qui lui pardonne d'avoir volé sa robe.

Aux Etats-Unis, dans les années 1930. Après avoir purgé une peine de quatre ans pour homicide involontaire, Tom Joad, un modeste paysan de l'Oklahoma, sort de prison et regagne la ferme de ses parents. Mais il trouve la maison abandonnée et les champs alentours déserts. Seul un pauvre bougre, Muley Graves, erre encore sur les lieux. Il explique que la plupart des fermiers de la région sont partis pour la Californie, expulsés par une grosse société agricole, la compagnie Shawnee, à la suite de plusieurs mauvaises récoltes…

Tom Joad returns to his home after a jail sentence to find his family kicked out of their farm due to forecloseure. He catches up with them on his Uncles farm, and joins them the next day as they head for California and a new life… Hopefully. (Based on the John Steinbeck novel)

Although Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome, the third part of George Miller's post-apocalyptic Mad Max trilogy, is certainly the least of the bunch (Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior is the undisputed masterpiece, and maybe the best action movie ever made), it has still got a good share of imaginative industrial-wasteland-pastiche imagery. And casting Tina Turner as Aunty Entity, the queen of Bartertown, was a masterstroke. Mel Gibson's character Max is pitted in a battle to the death against the bizarre Master Blaster in the Thunderdome, flying around on rubbery straps inside a sort of gigantic overturned colander with bloodthirsty spectators clinging to the outside.
