Without a brutal evaluation of their own becoming, TV Priest might have never made their second album. Heralded as the next big thing in post-punk, they were established as a bolshy, sharp-witted outfit, the kind that starts movements with their political ire. There was of course truth in that, but it was a suit that quickly felt heavy on its wearer’s shoulders, leaving little room for true vulnerability. “A lot of it did feel like I was being really careful and a bit at arm's length,” says vocalist Charlie Drinkwater. “I think maybe I was not fully aware of the role I was taking. I had to take a step back and realize that what we were presenting was quite far away from the opinion of myself that I had. Now, I just want to be honest.”

French TV's newest CD, A Ghastly State Of Affairs is their 15th in their long history. It is also their first album not to be self-released. Headed up by charter member bassist/composer Mike Sary, he is joined again by guitarist Kasumi Yoneda (also from the Japanese band TEE), keyboardist Patrick Strawser (best known for his work in the 90's band Volare), and now by the original drummer from FTV's first three abums, Fenner Castner.

Wow, this set of 4 CDs from seminal punk pioneers, Alternative TV and their stuff from the 1970’s is as comprehensive and varied as you would expect 68 tracks to be. ATV were lead by Mark Perry who was also the founder of the fanzine Sniffin’ Glue. Mark hailed from Deptford in South East London and was turned onto punk when he heard the Ramones in 1976. By 1977 he had teamed up with Scottish guitarist Alex Fergusson (no, not the manager of Aberdeen) and they formed Alternative TV.

French TV is a Louisville, Kentucky based progressive rock band that has been in existence since 1983. Over the years, members have come and gone, but founder, bassist and main composer Mike Sary continues to drag the band into the next millennium. The band deftly nod to prog-masters like National Health, Soft Machine, Zappa, Brudford, Brand X, Happy the Man, and Samla Mammas Manna, among others. The history of French TV is complex, filled with lineup changes, missed opportunities, delays, and disillusions. And yet, a growing body of work testifies to one man's sagacity and stubbornness. Blending elements of progressive rock, fusion, cartoon music, and Rock in Opposition (RIO), the music of his group has been described as being "simultaneously hilarious and highly challenging, making it one of the most original American prog rock outfits."

French TV are back with a snappy 2-cd set. Disc One is a new studio effort continuing the meticulous twists and turns of their last two releases, with essentially the same players. Disc Two is a (mostly) live-in-the-studio affair, BBC-style, containing the set they performed at Chicago's"Protoberfest" in 2018. For music fans who always wondered what if the members of Henry Cow decided to make a fusion record.

WEB FLAC (tracks) - 471 MB | MP3 CBR 320 kbps - 187 MB

Originally released in 2004, TV on the Radio’s debut album consists of nine songs that explore themes like discordant living, misrepresentation, the nature of existence, life, afterlife, love, and love "after hours." These are pop songs. These are rock songs. These are art songs. "Desperate Youth, Blood Thirsty Babes" picks up right where TVOTR’s 2003 debut EP "Young Liars" left off, venturing into uncharted sonic territory. The album features undeniably catchy songs with incredible production, arrangements, and exceptional crooning, including stunning a cappella performances. It’s a seriously solid album. This limited edition 20th-anniversary release adds five bonus tracks to the album, including two previously unreleased tracks—neither available in physical format nor on digital service providers: "Dry Drunk Emperor" (a 2005 studio track) and "Final Fantasy" (a 2004 album outtake).

America is a huge, diverse country with Yankee home cooking and Tex Mex cuisine. People ski on frozen Vermont mountains and surf the big waves in sun drenched California. One thing that binds it all together is TV. Television is American culture, a common thread that holds it all together on a nightly basis as we assemble around our living rooms to watch our favorite characters and shows. Twenty years ago, TVT Records was born with its first release, Television's Greatest Hits. Now after having sold millions of its TV theme compilations around the world, America's #1 independent label for the past 4 years running is returning to its roots. In celebration of TVT's 20th Anniversary, it is releasing the ultimate TV collection, All Time Top 100 TV Themes, featuring themes drawn from all the original sources.

Following the warm response that graced their return CD, Icon, in May 2005 and the Icon EP in August 2005, John Wetton and Geoff Downes are now offering an acoustic DVD filmed for a broadcast special at TV studios during October 2005. Stripping bare a selection of their classic songs, John and Geoff demonstrate how they originally sounded around the piano, accompanied by acoustic guitar or acoustic bass. ELO’s Hugh McDowell joins them on cello and the three virtuosos clearly enjoy the opportunity to relax while performing in front of the cameras. At the time of recording this broadcast, they were keeping quiet about the plans for a 25th anniversary reunion of the founder members of Asia, including Steve Howe and Carl Palmer, which were publicised in February 2006. 2005 and 2006 has seen the original "Heat of the Moment" grace the soundtracks of 2 Hollywood blockbusters, the number 1 film of Summer 2005 [40 year old virgin], and Pierce Brosnan’s Golden Globe nominee "The Matador" which has graced the top 10 both sides of the Atlantic.

This special edition of the 1976 album will contain new Steven Wilson stereo remixes on CD 1, although this is of the version of the album re-recorded for a TV Special. Only five multi-track master tapes for the actual album could be located and new stereo remixes of those tracks are also appended on the first disc. The second CD consists of a complete flat transfer of the original stereo mix, and eight bonus tracks (seven of which are 2015 remixes). This bonus material includes two unheard songs: Salamander’s Ragtime (not related to album track Salamander), and Commercial Traveller. A third outtake Advertising Man was planned to be included but was not sufficiently complete to merit inclusion.
