Annekei grew up in a family of music. Her parents were both jazz musicians and her 4 brothers - just like herself - mastered their instruments at a very young age. She sings, plays the piano and guitar in addition to writing and arranging her own material. At 19-years-old, Annekei moved from her home country, Denmark, to pursue her musical ambitions in New York City. Since her arrival in 2002, the young singer has been performing venues as varied as Joe's Pub, Pianos, The Metropolitan Cafe, Rockwood Music Hall, The Living Room, Bowery Poetry Club, Suite 16, The Cutting Room, Blue Note, The Bitter End and Fez under Time Cafe.

The intent of Thom Zimny's documentary The Searcher is to showcase the artistry of Elvis Presley, an aspect that can sometimes get overwhelmed by Presley's enduring popularity. Appropriately, its accompanying soundtrack – available either as a single CD/LP or in a triple-disc deluxe edition – follows the same aesthetic, showcasing Elvis as an artist, not a hitmaker. Of course, there are plenty of hits here, especially on the three-CD edition, which contains two discs of Presley recordings and a disc split between Elvis inspirations, selections from the evocative score from Mike McCready, and a version of "Wooden Heart" by Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers.

Ultimate set including many first appearance sound sources that have never been recorded anywhere. It is longer than the previous episode, including those that are recorded for the first time in an unedited manner. The Beatles, which was already locally famous in local Liverpool before his debut, swept the UK and Europe in 1963 since his debut in 1962. As soon as 1964 opened, he recorded the number one in the US with “I want to hug” In a short period of time it quickly became a global star. Meanwhile, I was busy with a lot of TV and radio appearances as a promotion as well as live performances in parallel. In the first rice in February 1964, only two performances of the live and Ed Sullivan show appeared to fuel the hunger of the fans, full of summer tours in the US. In the meantime, I also have movie shoots, and I wonder where the album had time to produce.

Nina Simone was only 25 years old in 1958 when she entered Beltone Studios in midtown Manhattan for a one-day recording session for her debut album, Little Girl Blue,on Bethlehem Records. The 14 songs she recorded that day reveal just how well developed Simone’s sound — her powerhouse vocals, her classically-trained piano-playing, her inventive, genre-blind arrangements, and her dynamic personality — already was. Bethlehem, a small and financially faltering jazz label, picked 11 tracks for Little Girl Blue. This unheralded debut yielded Simone’s biggest hit, a cover of the Gershwins’ “Porgy (I Loves You, Porgy),” as well as her last one, “My Baby Just Cares for Me,” which charted in 1987 after being used in a TV commercial.

Prudence was one the most important bands on the Norwegian prog scene in the '70's, which included the likes of Aunt Mary, Junipher Greene, Titanic, Popol Vuh (Ace), Ruphus, Folque and HØST. They fused rock with old party/dance music from Trøndelag and (on their last album) sang in their local dialect, and thereby created a rock style dubbed Trønderrock.

Ten songs composed by Neil Arthur, and arranged, co-produced and mixed with Benge (Wrangler/Creep Show) at the latter's Memetune Studios in Cornwall. This is the pair's third album together following their Fader First Light album in June 2017 and they also collaborated on last year's Blancmange opus, Unfurnished Rooms - described by Mojo as 'detached, wistful, touched by computer-age unease.' Wanderlust is focussed on similar themes but there's a new energy to the approach - wistfulness turning to anger; dislocation morphing into a powerful desire to be somewhere else, and always a sense of someone fighting for forward motion, dreams, family and the joys of life while seeing, as Arthur puts it, 'the pretence of a normal world being erased.' This spirit is also in the music, which is vital, percussive, full of analogue machine-noise and chunky basslines.
