The Anthology Decades is a compilation of older studio material which has been previously unreleased, though some of the tracks seem to be remixed ('tangentized') or alternate versions of some well-known material: Sunset In The Fifth System obviously bases on an excerpt from Alpha Centauri, Exit To Heaven is very similar to Edinburgh Castle, and Landing On 51 essentially overlays Astral Voyager with some new melody lines. On the other hand, official information from the Tangerine Dream Forum state: "Speculations on so-called 'tangentized' material or the use of some 'overwashed' production methods are completely false. They are compositions out of the 70ies and 80s which have been recorded for the first time or have been taken from Edgar's personal sound library"…

2016 two CD release from the German electronic music pioneers. Particles is a wonderful mixture of live and studio tracks. Their cover version of the Main Theme from the enormously popular Netflix series Stranger Things has already made massive waves and received excellent reviews by the press, including Rolling Stone. "4 P.M. Session" is a fully improvised track recorded at the famous (Dieter) Dierks Studios close to Cologne where Tangerine Dream recorded Alpha Centauri i.e. in former times. The second CD contains tracks which are completely recorded at the Schwingungen Festival in Windeck (Germany) in September 2016. Enjoy the sound of the new generation of Tangerine Dream. In eternal memory of Edgar Froese.

Imagine Gong eschewing their zany brand of psyched-out humour and teaming-up with Tangerine Dream and you have 1976's 'Parallel Worlds', the third album from legendary Japanese group Far East Family Band. And the Tangerine Dream link is not a tenuous one either; keyboardist and drummer Klaus Schulze, who appeared on Tangerine Dream's debut album 'Electronic Meditation before quitting the group and turning into one of the foremost innovators of early electronica, produced 'Parallel Worlds', lending his sonic signature sounds - ethereal synth washes, strange bleeps, mystical clicks and whirrs, primitive keyboard effects - to Far East Family Band's highly-psychedelic brand of cosmic rock. It would mark Schulze's second stint as producer for the group, his first coming a year earlier on the 'Nipponjin' album, but this time his influence appears much more pronounced…
