2007 digitally remastered two CD compilation from the outfit formed by producer Alan Parsons. The Alan Parsons Project was originally launched 30 years ago as a studio-only band, and through the vinyl age, they where held in high esteem as real music innovators. This double disc set is a 34 track collection coming at a time when concept albums and progressive rock are experiencing a major resurgence. All tracks are newly remastered from the original tapes, and in full co-operation with Alan Parsons and main vocalist Eric Woolfson. Influenced by Roy Acuff, and belonging to the blues tradition of Jimmie Rodgers, his songs and his passionate performances of them communicated with extraordinary sympathy the texture of everyday emotional life. But he ran a hedonistic race to death; problems with drink and drugs killed him before he reached 30. 20 million records were sold in the ten years after he died. Disc One of Lovesick Blues (the title of his million-selling breakthrough hit) covers the first four years of Hank Williams’ brief but spectacular career. Disc Two covers his few remaining years – a golden period of even greater success. Here are no fewer than 25 Top Ten Country hits, including nine Number Ones between them covering the gamut of emotions from heartrending blues to joyous celebration.

"Specchio Veneziano" or the Venetian mirror – this programme compares and contrasts two composers from the city of the Doges: on the one hand the celebrated Vivaldi, on the other a virtual unknown, Giovanni Battista Reali, who was born there in 1681, three years after Vivaldi, and died in 1751, ten years after his illustrious colleague. A violinist himself, he composed trio sonatas, including a very spectacular Folia, which Théotime Langlois de Swarte, Sophie de Bardonnèche, Hanna Salzenstein and Justin Taylor juxtapose with Vivaldi’s Folia, alongside other highly virtuosic pieces, many of them complete rediscoveries, since half of this programme has never been recorded before.
