This re-issue of the 2007 album Reformation Post TLC comes with two bonus discs of demos, early rough mixes and alternate versions, as well as a fourth disc; the Live at Hammersmith Palais album – as with the other Fall reissues these have notes by Fall guru Daryl Easlea and have been mastered by long time engineer Andy Pearce.

To get the clichés out of the way first, the Fall are really literate, mumbling curmudgeon leader Mark E. Smith and anyone he chooses. Smith is famous for firing bandmembers, creating a slew of ex-Fall people who almost outnumber the amount of compilations released under the band's name, and most of those compilations are for "hardcore fans only." The final, and probably most accurate, cliché is that there is no Fall fan but a hardcore one, which brings up the question of who this amazing box set is made for. The Fall Box Set covers the band's whole career in five CDs, one featuring "live rarities" for "hardcore fans only" while the other four cover the band's career chronologically with singles, album tracks, and a handful of unreleased numbers.

Originally recorded at Lisa Stansfield’s Gracieland Studios in between December 2002 and January 2003 with producer Grant Showbiz. The subtitle is explained by the fact that the tracks were originally scheduled for release in April 2003 under the title ‘Country on the Click’. Promotional copies were sent out and three of the new songs were previewed in the band’s 23rd Peel Session, but Mark. E Smith was unhappy with the mix and decided it needed further work.

"…[Turkish-American composer] Kamran Ince (b. 1960) mixes such diverse elements as medieval compositional techniques, Middle Eastern folk music, Bach chorales, wild percussion, tone clusters, and the styles of late Romanticism as well as modern Russia. He also drops nontraditional instruments, such as electric guitar, electric bass, and synthesizer, into the normal symphony orchestra. Yet this very pictoral and striking music could not be called avant-garde; it communicates instantly and clearly in a language quite its own. Ince not only attempts to depict the sound of pounding waves in one section of his lovely piano concerto 'Remembering Lycia', but also wittily portrays 'speeches' by the emperor of Constantinople and the Turkish conqueror in his five-movement symphony about the 15th-century 'Fall of Constantinople'."
