The album showcases the emergence of synthpop as a dominant sub-genre of new wave, following the breakout success of former Tubeway Army singer Gary Numan with his debut #1 solo single ‘Cars’. Electronic music took over the charts during the early 80s, Duran Duran’s ‘Planet Earth’ and Japan’s ‘Quite Life’ filled our soundwaves alongside tracks such as ‘Vienna’, ‘Tainted Love’, ‘Together In Electric Dreams’, ‘Never Ending Story’ and The Human League’s breakthrough single ‘The Sound Of The Crowd’. Plus Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark’s ‘Enola Gay’ and Paul Hardcastle’s ‘19’ gave voice to powerful social statements.

Formed in 1970, Jade Warrior were one of the most original British bands to emerge during the Progressive Rock era. The band’s first incarnation featured Tony Duhig (guitars) and Jon Field (flutes, percussion), both of whom had been in the Psychedelic group July, and Glyn Havard (bass, vocals).
Signing to the legendary Vertigo label, the band recorded their self-titled debut album in March 1971. Their unique sound ventured stylistically between ethnic music, melodic, gentle ethereal and ambient sounds and heavier guitar driven rock.
By the time of the recording of this, their second album, issued in November 1971, the band had expanded to a quartet with drummer Allan Price adding a new character to the band’s sound. The sessions also featured a guest appearance from saxophonist Dave Conners. ‘Released’ was a huge progression from the band’s debut and featured such classic tracks as ‘Three Horned Dragon King’, ‘Eyes On You’ and the epic 14- minute piece ‘Baranzibar’.

11 years after their acrimonious split, Pixies returned for an acclaimed sold-out reunion tour. 'Live In Brixton' brings together the complete recordings of all four shows from Pixies' legendary run at the iconic London venue. Over the course of the four nights, they played almost all of the big hitters and fan favourites from the landmark albums ‘Doolittle’ and ‘Surfer Rosa’; key songs and obscurities from the rest of their catalogue; plus further covers in the shape of Peter Ivers’ ‘In Heaven’ (from the David Lynch film ‘Eraserhead’) and The Jesus and Mary Chain’s ‘Head On’. And remarkably, each of the four setlists was radically different. Now recordings of the four shows will be officially available for the first time in the box set ‘Live In Brixton’, which will be released on January 28th.
