The Age of Alexander

Alexander the Great, perhaps the most commanding leader in history, united his empire and his army by the titanic force of his will. His death at the age of thirty-two spelled the end of that unity.

While we know a great deal about naval strategies in the classical Greek and later Roman periods, our understanding of the period in between–the Hellenistic Age–has never been as complete.
