The Steepwater Band formed in Chicago in 1998 ignited by a passion for the city's electric blues. The power trio who quickly progressed from covering Robert Johnson, Muddy Waters and John Lee Hooker to writing compelling originals has crafted a rock n' roll sound best described as heavy Americana…

Here we finally have a young band staying true to the soul-powered '70s with blues-based heavy guitar, strong dynamics, and groove-induced riffs in the spirit of Humble Pie, The Black Crowes and Free. The songs are top-notch, soaked in the essence of cool retro-rock. Fronted by Todd McCullough (guitars, vocals) with Pete Scott (guitar), Bob Willow (bass), Glenn Sorino (drums) and featuring Daphna El Roy (backing vocals) the band make a huge statement in the eleven tracks that fill Next Round. "Something To Tell You" kicks the disc off in style with twangy feedback and a fundamental drumbeat that lends itself to McCullough's mid-range timber. The guitar work is blues-based forged in old school British rock – emotive and peppered with exotic spice.
BLACK COUNTRY COMMUNION, the Anglo-American rock group comprising vocalist/bassist Glenn Hughes (DEEP PURPLE, TRAPEZE), drummer Jason Bonham (LED ZEPPELIN, FOREIGNER), Derek Sherinian (DREAM THEATER, ALICE COOPER, BILLY IDOL) and blues-rock guitarist/vocalist Joe Bonamassa, will release its long-awaited and highly anticipated fourth album, "BCCIV", via Mascot Records on Friday, September 22. This is the band's first studio album since 2013's "Afterglow".
Those of you that have followed the Mule's history know that our connection with the state of Georgia is a deep one. Our first rehearsals were at the one-time living quarters of the Allman Brothers Band known as The Big House (now the ABB museum) in Macon, GA. Some later rehearsals took place at what used to be the legendary Capricorn Recording Studio in Macon while recording the song GONNA SEND YOU BACK TO GEORGIA for the HOUND DOG TAYLOR Tribute CD. A lot of our earliest shows were in Georgia as well so a lot of our growth as a band took place in front of Georgia audiences.
When 'High Water I' was released in August 2018 it was the sound of old friends coming together in a union of rock 'n' roll, psychedelic blues, rasping Americana and late-night storytelling. The band was pulled together by guitarist Rich Robinson, it continued a storyline he began in the Black Crowes with guitarist Marc Ford and bassist Sven Pipien. Meanwhile, vocalist John Hogg shared Hookah Brown with Robinson as keyboardist Matt Slocum and drummer Joe Magistro both joined him for solo records and tours over the years. 'High Water II' picks up where the band's studio debut left off, much of the album was written during those early recordings at Dark Horse Studios in Nashville, which is why the album feels like a perfect continuation of its predecessor. The country-tinged 'Lost Boy' features vocals and fiddle by bluegrass superstar and 27-time Grammy Award winner Alison Krauss.
