2008 collection from the L.A. Rock legends fronted by the enigmatic Jim Morrison. Their music has continued to live on over four decades after they released their self-titled debut album…
The Doors were an American rock band formed in 1965 in Los Angeles, with vocalist Jim Morrison, keyboardist Ray Manzarek, guitarist Robby Krieger, and John Densmore on drums. The band got its name, at Morrison's suggestion from the title of Aldous Huxley's book The Doors of Perception, which itself was a reference to a quote made by William Blake, "If the doors of perception were cleansed, everything would appear to man as it is, infinite." They were unique and among the most controversial and influential rock acts of the 1960s, mostly because of Morrison's lyrics and charismatic but unpredictable stage persona…
The Doors found their mojo (and Mr. Mojo Risin’) in November 1970 as they recorded L.A. Woman over six days at the Workshop, the band’s rehearsal space on Santa Monica Boulevard. A success both critically and commercially, the album was certified double-platinum and contains some of the band’s most enduring music, including the Top 20 hit “Love Her Madly,” “Riders On The Storm,” and the title track.
The Doors released its third studio album, Waiting for the Sun, in July 1968. It was the band’s third platinum album in less than two years, and the first to top the album chart. Since its debut, the album has sold more than nine million copies and contributed to the Doors’ legendary canon with classics like “The Unknown Soldier,” “Five To One” and the #1 smash, “Hello, I Love You.”
Rhino will commemorate the 50th anniversary of the album with Waiting For The Sun: 50th 50th Anniversary Deluxe Edition. This two-CD collection features a new version of the album’s original stereo mix on both CD which has been remastered - for the first time in 30 years - by Bruce Botnick, the Doors’ longtime engineer and producer. The set also includes a second disc of 14 unreleased recordings of the Doors in the studio and on stage.

The album received great reviews from both the critics and chill-out DJs such as Jose Padilla from Cafe Del Mar with whom Lenny remixed and co-produced for a period of time. Within a year Lenny was remixing artists such as the Doors, Bob Dylan and Bob Marley. His Remix of Riders on the Storm made its mark and Lenny was called to produce his first movie soundtracks. Since 1997, Lenny Ibizarre has produced 12 albums and is a multi-platinum selling artist. His Chilled Ibiza Compilations sold over 1.5 million copies in the UK…
