The Fix

When one of Boeing's jetliners needs a repair, a team of specialists gets sent to fix it. They're Boeing's crack AOG (Aircraft on the Ground) team and this time their destination is Charles de Gaulle airport in Paris, where Sean Riley joins them to fix a Boeing 767 that suffered a multi-million dollar fender-bender in the airport's parking lot, which damaged the jet's pressure dome… a piece of technology that keeps passengers alive up to 43,000 feet. To make the fix means taking the back of the plane apart, one bolt at a time, and Riley's there for every step of this delicate and dangerous transplant operation.

Football fever has gripped the globe with all the action from the World Cup in Brazil; however it seems there is a darker side to the game which Morland Sanders finds out tonight in this episode of Dispatches. He goes undercover to investigate allegations of match-fixing around the globe, and asking if fans can even trust what they're watching. Hard to believe that much corruption could exist in the sport that's loved by so many so let's hope these investigations don't produce too many sketchy results.

Pilates focuses on strengthening the core or midsection, so a Pilates-based abdominal workout is a natural. The first of the three 10-minute sessions led by instructor Keli Roberts utilizes many of the classic Pilates moves: curls, leg circles, the 100, criss-crosses, a teaser sequence, and swan dive. The second set combines some traditional mid-section exercises with Pilates resulting in a mix of sit-ups, the can can, leg stretches, scissors, and rollups. Stabilization is the goal of the final and most difficult series, starting with rolldowns from a standing position, pushups, and rollups back up again. Other exercises use the plank and side positions and require both skill and balance. Fortunately, one of Roberts's assistants demonstrates modifications. With so many variations crammed into each short set, beginners may benefit from watching the exercises first and making liberal use of the pause button as they learn. –Kimberly Heinrichs

There's no doubt that that adding an exercise ball to your routine will perk it up, but–depending on your sense of balance–it may also land you on the floor. Instructor Keli Roberts and her two able assistants make no such descents, but beginners are bound to wobble, which Roberts acknowledges with reassuring frequency. The three 10-minute workouts can be done individually or combined since they focus on different areas. Round 1 concentrates on the lower body with squats while holding the ball, balancing on it for a variation of the yoga bridge and squeezing it with the upper thighs. Workout 2 tones the arms and back by lifting dumbbells while sitting or leaning on the ball and using it for pushups. The final routine is specifically for the abs: sit-ups, curls, yoga's plank and downward dog, and Pilates scissors–all atop the ball.
