World renowned Irish American group’s third studio album. The Gloaming is four master musicians and one singer, seemingly suspended in time as their music unfurls around them, its tendrils reaching out into every nook and cranny of the room. It’s undoubtedly Irish music - with violinists Martin Hayes and Caoimhín Ó Raghallaigh, guitarist Dennis Cahill, and with Ó Lionáird, one of the greatest contemporary sean-nos singers. But it’s also more than that: pianist and producer Thomas Bartlett steers the music towards a place where modernity and the old world become one. The heart of The Gloaming remains, but there are touches throughout that signal its points of difference.

In March 2018, The Gloaming will play seven sold-out shows at Dublin's National Concert Hall. To mark this occasion, they will release Live at the NCH, a live album recorded at the venue which has become their home from home. In recent years, The Gloaming have truly become a live force to be reckoned with. The annual NCH residencies have each sold out quicker than the previous one and faster than new shows can be added. Away from home, their international touring schedule has been equally impressive, including such notable nights out as the Ceiliúradh at London's Royal Albert Hall (a celebration of the Irish president's first-ever state visit to Britain), Sydney's Opera House, New York's Lincoln Center, Hamburg's Elbphilharmonie, Mexico City's Teatro de la Ciudad, and Philharmonie de Paris.

With over 7000 set to see The Gloaming perform at this time, the band's sophomore album is widely tipped to have a chart-topping debut in Ireland. Their debut was widely acclaimed as one of the finest recordings of 2014, featuring on many year-end best lists including Mojo, NPR Music, and the Irish Times; was picked by The Guardian as The One Album You Should Hear This Week; won a BBC Radio 2 Folk Award; and the Meteor Choice Music Prize for Album of the Year.

Hail to the Thief is the sixth studio album by the English rock band Radiohead. It was released on 9 June 2003 by Parlophone in the UK and a day later by Capitol Records in the United States. After transitioning to a more electronic style on their albums Kid A (2000) and Amnesiac (2001), recorded through protracted studio experimentation, Radiohead sought to capture a more immediate sound. They recorded most of Hail to the Thief in six weeks in Los Angeles with longtime Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich, focusing on live takes rather than overdubs. Songwriter Thom Yorke wrote many of the lyrics in response to the War on Terror and the resurgence of right-wing politics in the west at the turn of the millennium. Despite a high-profile internet leak of unfinished material ten weeks before release, Hail to the Thief debuted at number one on the UK Albums Chart and number three on the US Billboard 200 chart, and was certified platinum in the UK, US and Canada. It produced three charting singles: "There There", "Go to Sleep" and "2 + 2 = 5". The album received mostly positive reviews and was the fifth consecutive Radiohead album nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Alternative Music Album.

The Martin Hayes Quartet expands on many of the musical ideas pursued by Martin in his longstanding partnership with Dennis Cahill. The melody still remains central but now with an added range of sonic possibilities provided by the bass clarinet and viola d'amore. The addition of these instruments creates an added aural texture and amplifies the rhythmic possibilities while also allowing a larger role for improvisation. Both Doug and Liz bring a wealth of musical experience that contributes to the spacious, rich arrangements of the Quartet.
