The musicians of the Bureau of Atomic Tourism – aka BOAT – were assembled by Belgian drummer Teun Verbruggen for Antwerp's Follow the Sound Festival in November 2011. Several days after the festival gig, BOAT recorded their 2013 debut album, Second Law of Thermodynamics, at a club show in Tilburg, the Netherlands, and by then they were truly firing on all cylinders. Verbruggen (Flat Earth Society, Jef Neve Trio, Too Noisy Fish) certainly surrounded himself with a top international lineup: bassist Trevor Dunn, reedman Andrew D'Angelo, and trumpeter Nate Wooley from the Brooklyn avant scene in the U.S.; and guitarist Marc Ducret and (Belgian-born) keyboardist Jozef Dumoulin from France.

Millennium Jazz Music presents the Operation Six as we celebrate with the Jazz Jousters collective on their 6th anniversary since the group started working together in 2012. OP6 is the first project from the Jousters collective since the release of the Fifth element double vinyl and cassette album for the previous anniversary. Although we've never taken so long between Jazz Jousters releases the group have never stopped working behind the scenes and we're very keen to share one or two specials with you, and then continue to wrap up our five part 'Locations vinyl series' which started with 'Locations: USA' last year. The Goldilocks Zone is an area of space in which a planet, like our own Earth, is perfectly distanced from its sun. The planet’s surface is neither too hot nor too cold (like baby bear’s porridge in the fairy tale). Conditions are just right so that liquid water remains on the surface of the planet without freezing or evaporating out into space. Life can form and flourish. Olga Konkova sees this as metaphor and as symbol: “It’s a place in the human soul where beautiful thoughts are born and nourished”.
