The Last Dance

The Last Dance is a live album by the English rock band Magnum, released in 1996 by SPV. This is the European release; the UK release was called Stronghold. Hard rockers Magnum got their start in Birmingham, England, in the mid-'70s. The band's first album, Kingdom of Madness, came out in 1978, right in the midst of the punk rock musical revolution. That timing may be one factor contributing to the band's unknown status. Magnum II was released in 1979. After extensive gigging, the group released the live album Marauder in 1980, and Chase the Dragon came two years later. Going back to their "album a year" pace, The Eleventh Hour was released in 1983. The band went two years between discs again, with On a Storyteller's Night not being released until 1985, but the time seemed to have done some good for them. The album was well received and their fame was growing in Europe.

Dance is a crucial factor, both in this music and in Cecil Taylor's life at large. His mother was a dancer, and he often described his technique as a way to reproduce choreography's leaps and movements on the keyboard. Moreover, bassist Dominic Duval refers to these improvisations — recorded at 2003's San Francisco Jazz Fest — as "a truly integrated dance in which there are two dancers, dancing and singing together in harmony and with love and respect for each other". This relationship dates back to 1995, this double CD marking the first time in which the artists' output as a bass/piano duo is released.

Ken Hensley is an English singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer, best known for his work with Uriah Heep during the 1970s. Ken's 6th solo studio album, The Last Dance features a fantastic collection of 11 original songs, originially released in 2003. This Russian release has different covers and includes 3 remixes of the song Lady in Black.
