The Time And The Place/The Lost Concert is a 2007 Art Farmer Quintet CD released through Mosaic Singles. Three of the songs were released on the 1982 Columbia album The Time And The Place. The songs were said to be recorded live but they were actually recorded in the studio with canned audience. The remainder of the songs, from the same session, were unreleased. The tracks were recorded in 1966 and tracks 5-7 were originally released in 1967

The live attempts at recreating the seminal jam chemistry of Super Session were hit-and-miss affairs, and this one, previously unreleased, has its fair share of off-key and off-target tunes. The rhythm section is erratic, the repertoire–ranging from Simon & Garfunkel's "59th Street Bridge Song (Feelin' Groovy)" to an Elvis-flavored "That's All Right Mama"–is a bit odd, and co-leader Al Kooper is competent but rarely inspired. Guitarist Michael Bloomfield, however, is uniformly brilliant and his graceful blues virtuosity is by itself well worth the price of admission. Bloomfield and the group are joined on B.B. King's "It's My Own Fault" by a then-unknown Johnny Winter and things get really interesting.

Jazz / Hard Bop / Bop / Flugelhorn

This CD, The Time and the Place, is not the album of the same name released on Columbia Records dated February 8, 1967, with pianist Cedar Walton. That recording was a studio date with live audience sounds overdubbed. This is the actual live concert date, remixed from the three-track reel-to-reel master at New York City's Museum of Modern Art's outdoor "Jazz in the Garden" series, featuring pianist Albert Dailey on August 18, 1966, and presented in its entirely. Farmer plays flugelhorn exclusively, one of the first to do so. This concert also links his time leaving the U.S. for Europe, returning briefly, then moving permanently to Vienna, Austria.

There are few composers who have made a bigger splash in the film world over the past two decades than Michael Giacchino. His partnership with J.J. Abrams early in his career has led to work on some of the biggest films and franchises in the world, and inspired some of the most varied, complex and unforgettable music produced during that time. But for many of the people who thrill at each new announcement of a Giacchino project, that love affair started with Lost.

With this polished and detailed release, which was conceived as a double album from the beginning, the five musicians cement their outstanding position as exceptional artists and climb to the next level with their most innovative and mature release to date, which doesn't want to fit into any pigeonhole. Not only the sound is massive, but also physically Lord Of The Lost deliver impressively with Judas: The album will be available as a limited 2-CD mediabook, 2-CD sleevepack and 2 x 2 LP gatefold recycled vinyl

'The Lost Album' project was born from the idea of gathering for the first time all the Beatles unreleased compositions.
Also relevant variations of known Beatles compositions, improvs, jams, and cover versions performed by the group
that were never included in any studio album or single. Many of these tracks come from demos, home recordings, rehearsals, etc, so the original quality is low. In this album we try to improve the audio quality as much as possible, recovering audio drops, fixing technical problems, recording failures and so on. Software tools have been used to clean, remaster and enhance the tracks, without ever losing the fidelity to their originals. Short and unfinished songs were sewn into each other, with soft transitions, resulting in a more consistent track. Overdubs and collages were all extracted from original Beatles material, from their period of activity (1958 to 1969). With 'The Lost Album II' we conclude the series of all unpublished Beatles material. We hope everyone has enjoyed the last ride on the Magical Mystery Tour… Bruno Ribeiro & The Producers © 2019 - UK - Not For Sale!
