10 August 2023 (Toronto, ON) —Florence + the Machine unveil Under Heaven Over Hell today, a new collection of songs from across the band’s career personally curated by Florence Welch. The 39-track compilation is available as a digital download and on streaming platforms everywhere today.

Dvořák’s mature string quartets are masterly, all brimming with life-enhancing music, and Op 106 is no exception. The Takács Quartet gives superlative accounts of both this and the apt coupling by a young Samuel Coleridge-Taylor.

Composer Eugene O’Brien teams up with Washington D.C. based ensemble The 21st Century Consort, led by conductor Christopher Kendall, for an album of two of his ensemble compositions, Algebra of Night and Elegy to the Spanish Republic. The two pieces both take inspiration from a constellation of sources related to iconic places. Algebra of Nightfor voice and piano quartet sets poetry by six poets who lived in Manhattan at some point and whose work was shaped by the experience of that multi-layered metropolis.

Long before bedroom recording became an aesthetic choice, R Stevie Moore built a legend of pop experimentalism, home recording, and mystic curmudgeonry. Equal parts songwriter, improviser, composer, producer, filmmaker, artist, and comedy writer, the self-taught Tennessean polymath has released hundreds of homemade albums since the '60s–and inspired a thousand times more. Rather than pose and slither in the music biz, Moore opted for a more genuine life and a spot on the staff at legendary indie radio station WFMU, sharing Bedroom Radio with the world. His independent streak extends to his record releases, the R. Stevie Moore Cassette Club successful and long-lasting enough that it became the R. Stevie Moore CD-R Club.

Tricky’s groundbreaking 1995 debut album Maxinquaye is being reissued in triple-LP, single-LP, double-CD and digital formats on 13 October. Maxinquaye (Reincarnated) contains rarities and brand new versions of tracks many of which have not been officially released before – The single-LP contains the original album remastered at Abbey Road Studio. The super deluxe triple-LP set and double-CD contains six new “Reincarnated” versions of tracks recorded by Tricky in 2022, previously unreleased BBC session tracks recorded with a full live band in the autumn of 1995 as well as “Black Steel” performed live at Glastonbury that same year and it concludes with some rough monitor mixes. The digital version also includes all the remixes from the original single releases plus eight remixes originally unreleased including one from Leftfield.
