White is a B.B. King-sounding singer, with an original overall sound, who makes great records with big-band feel. Artie “Blues Boy” White was an important figure in contemporary blues and one of the artists who helped bridge the gap between the blues of the postwar era and the contemporary hybrid “soul-blues” style. Very few Chicago blues artists were able to pierce the R&B charts during the 1970s, when interest in the genre was rock-bottom. But smooth-voiced Artie "Blues Boy" White managed the rare feat with his 1977 single for Altee, "Leanin' Tree."

Mondo Cane is the 2010 CD by singer Mike Patton. This is a non-rock album, as it contains him singing Italian lyrics over songs that sound as if they were torn from soundtrack films of yesteryear, as eccentric as some of his discs on the Tzadik label. This was released on his own Ipecac label.
