In the mid-1960s producer Roger Corman purchased the US rights to a handful of Soviet sci-fi movies: PLANETA BUR (PLANET OF STORMS, 1962), THE SKY BECKONS (NEBO ZOVYOT, 1959) and A DREAM COMES TRUE (MECHTE NAVSTRECHU, 1963). From these three movies Corman fashioned four ''new'' movies: QUEEN OF BLOOD (1966), BATTLE BEYOND THE SUN (1962), VOYAGE TO A PREHISTORIC PLANET (1965) and VOYAGE TO THE PLANET OF PREHISTORIC WOMEN (1968).

Prehistoric Planet is a British-American five-part nature documentary streaming television series about dinosaurs that premiered on Apple TV+ beginning May 23, 2022Hans Zimmer, Kara Talve and Anže Rozman composed the soundtrack. It is the first major dinosaur-focused documentary series produced by the BBC since Planet Dinosaur in 2011, and the third overall (the first was Walking with Dinosaurs in 1999).

Apple TV+ announced today a second season of the award-winning natural history event series “Prehistoric Planet,” from executive producers Jon Favreau and Mike Gunton, and BBC Studios Natural History Unit (“Planet Earth”), narrated by Sir David Attenborough.
