Seven CD box set. The group's entire Atlantic Records output 1965-1971. 152 carefully remastered tracks across seven compact discs. The first four albums presented in both stereo and mono, along with significant single edits and foreign language versions. For the first time on any Rascals re-issue, 14 previously unreleased tracks. 60-page booklet with detailed notes and rare illustrations from The Rascals Archives. In the mid-1960s, the Rascals fused the best of rock and soul with memorable hits like 'Good Lovin' and 'I Ain't Gonna Eat Out My Heart Anymore", and they remain the most beloved of acts of that era. The electrifying quartet of Felix Cavaliere, Eddie Brigati, Gene Cornish and Dino Danelli defined the term blue-eyed soul. As the hits mounted up, the group expanded their musical horizons and revealed a powerful songcraft with introspective originals 'Groovin' and 'How Can I Be Sure,' future standards both. And their 1968 smashes 'A Beautiful Morning' and 'People Got To Be Free' remain among the greatest celebrations of peace and harmony ever cut to disc.

If ever an American band went through a more startling transformation than the Rascals did during the six years the original band recorded for Atlantic, let them show their colors. Here was a young east group who from the jump had complete creative control over their recordings, publishing, production, and packaging – something unheard of then – and issued over 15 Top 40 singles, three Top Ten albums, and two more that cracked the Top 40, most of which were issued without critical acclaim at the time. This six-CD retrospective of the band's entire tenure on Atlantic (there were two more recordings afterwards, issued on Columbia with a splintered version of the band), documents their complete studio output of eight albums over four and a half discs, and devotes a disc and a half to singles, A- and B-sides, alternates, and different versions of hits. For those familiar with the hits, it's difficult to imagine that the Rascals ever rocked as hard as they did on their first two albums, The Young Rascals and Collections.

The Rascals should probably be considered one of the best white rock bands recording in the rhythm and blues idiom. TIME PEACE offers an opportunity to review in retrospect just exactly what the Rascals have contributed to rock music. Arguably the greatest greatest-hits album of the '60s. A White-soul classic.

With two fantastic singers and songwriters in Felix Cavaliere and Eddie Brigati, an underrated guitarist and songwriter in Gene Cornish, and the great Dino Danelli on drums (plus a pair of studio Svengalis in engineer Tom Dowd and arranger Arif Mardin to rival George Martin), The Rascals were the closest answer America had to The Beatles during the '60s. The resemblance wasn't limited to the composition of their line-up and the profusion of hit releases, either; like the Fab Four, The Rascals were able to author chart-topping singles while simultaneously crafting albums that held together as artistic statements.

A Tribute To The Pirate Stations (1964-1974) "Golden Years of Pop Music" On April 21, 2010, it will be 50 years since Radio Veronica began broadcasting from a ship just outside the territorial waters. It ushered in the era of the 'pirate station' phenomenon. Radio Caroline, Radio London, Radio Northsea International and many others followed Veronica's initiative. On this 7-CD + DVD box, all the great radio hits from the most important years of pop history (1964-1974) are listed by Adje Bouman. At the time, Ad was a technician at Radio Veronica and was not called 'the master' for nothing. Each CD has its own theme; the Adje Bouman Top Ten, the Lex Harding Show, the Rob Out Show, etc. Not only the big hits are featured, the typical 'radio records' are also present, all this is interspersed with jingles and so these shows seem to be alive again brought.
