Attention on peut mourir de rire …
It's in French but no pb to understand "burlesque situations"

In a small post office of countryside, three postmen, of which François is the hero, pressed by the orders of their Chef, break up then begin again, beside their bicycle, each gesture of the ritual of the handing-over of the mail. The school for postmen is like the draft of the first full-length film of Tati, Feastday, the history of the daily job of a little confused postman and one day of a fun fair in a small village.

The Ballad of Narayama is legendary Japanese director Shohei Imamura’s riveting view of the harsh existence of pre-war rural life in Japan. The 1983 film, set in a rural mountain village is an artful blend of naturalistic drama and dark comedy, highlighting the customs of a people so tied to the land and the cycle of life and death that their customs dictate that when their elderly reach the age of 70, they must leave the village and ascend the mythical Narayama mountain to die, making way for a new life. It is a place where third sons are denied the pleasures of having a wife or any sort of sexual pleasures to keep the population down, unwanted boy children are put to death and girls are sold off for money…..

Halloween began centuries ago as a pagan holiday that honored the dead that warned of a netherworld of spirits and ghosts. Today, Halloween has morphed into a day for breaking rules, pushing boundaries and wearing disguises. But Halloween remains a time for us to deal with our own mortality. Our modern Halloween traditions have ancient roots – people were going door to door and begging for treats on Halloween night as far back as the Middle Ages.

On January 3rd, 2001, documentary writer/producer Wayne Darwen brought a professional TV news crew into the Temple of the O.T.A. to visually record a remarkable event: the summoning of the ancient spirit Vassago. Only 13 days after the ritual was visually recorded, President Laurent Kabila of the Congo was assassinated! See the entire operation in sequence, exactly as it happened with no rehearsals and no retakes. This 2011 edition has ten more minutes of new footage with commentary on the Vassago Prophecy, as subsequently revealed in the following 2 years, plus a new prophecy from Vassago.

The History Channel has been putting out made for TV documentaries like crazy, and one of them was about the mysteries of the Freemasons, which is something I’ve been interested in for a while now. They start the documentary by asking all the same questions that got me intrigued enough to watch this documentary in the first place. What are the Freemasons? What is their secret? Are they devil worshipers? Do they run the government? What I learned from the documentary is the sad truth that they aren’t as amazing as we are led to believe. I guess that’s just the way it is though, if there was some shocking secret that could be told in the documentary we would have heard it all already. Despite the fact that the Freemasons aren’t as interesting as we all hope, the documentary made them a bit more interesting with some of the features in the documentary.
