The deluxe version of Pisces Iscariot is a treasure trove of Pumpkins material, presenting the original album remastered, a bonus CD filled with 17 previously unreleased or alternate versions of ‘Pisces’ era songs, a DVD of 24 previously unreleased live performances from gigs and jams between 1988 and 1994, a reproduction of the Smashing Pumpkins’ first ever demo tape, as well as postcards, watercolour illustrations, lyrics, photos, liner notes by David Wild and track-by-track annotations by Billy Corgan himself – all housed in a deluxe box.

Billy Corgan probably never smashed a pumpkin in his life. He was too busy making fun of the macho oafs who fueled their teen angst with power chords and cheap beer. Corgan is much more the type to hide in his room and write sweet songs or bash … Full Descriptionout manic sludgefests with tricky titles. Though they emerged alongside grunge acts like Nirvana and Pearl Jam, the Smashing Pumpkins were the group least influenced by traditional underground rock. Headed by principal songwriter and frontman Billy Corgan, they fashioned an amalgam of progressive rock, heavy metal, goth, psychedelia, and dream pop, creating a layered, powerful sound driven by swirling, distorted guitars that churned beneath Corgan's angst-ridden lyrics. One of the most visible alternative rock bands of the early '90s, they achieved mainstream success over the decade with classic releases Siamese Dream and Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness before entering an uneven and often tumultuous chapter that carried them into the 2000s.
