Billy Corgan is the alt-rock boy who cried wolf: he's threatened to return Smashing Pumpkins to their '90s salad days so often, nobody paid attention when he finally did it in 2018. A decade prior to that year's reunion tour and its accompanying album, Shiny and Oh So Bright, Vol. 1/LP: No Past. No Future. No Sun. – a typically convoluted title that makes Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness as simple a title as Gish – Corgan reconnected with drummer Jimmy Chamberlin and revived the Smashing Pumpkins name for the metallic Zeitgeist, but the difference in 2018 is that guitarist James Iha is back in the fold (original bassist D'arcy Wretzky is estranged from the group)…

Vieuphoria is a long form music video by American alternative rock band The Smashing Pumpkins, originally released on VHS on October 4, 1994 and DVD on November 26, 2002. It was certified gold by the RIAA in late 1996. The video consists of various Smashing Pumpkins performances, mostly from the Siamese Dream tour, interspersed with comedy bits (including "Meet the Frogs"), interviews, featurettes, and other short videos. Smashing Pumpkins rose up from the Chicago underground scene, via Nirvana's indie label Sub Pop, to massive mainstream pop success. Innovative and influential, they were some of the oddball darlings of MTV. VIEUPHORIA is a collection of Pumpkins performances, captured between 1992 and 1994. It includes European TV performances of "Disarm" and "Geek U.S.A." and acoustic concert renditions of "Cherub Rock" (from MTV Europe) and "Mayonnaise." All performances are previously unavailable anywhere else.

As he set to work on Monuments to an Elegy, the second "album within an album" within the larger Teargarden by Kaleidyscope project, Billy Corgan slowly whittled down Smashing Pumpkins to himself and guitarist Jeff Schroeder. This narrowing of the group – the duo is supported by the hired hand of Mötley Crüe's drummer Tommy Lee – ultimately doesn't matter much because ever since the Pumpkins' 2007 comeback, the secret of Corgan's complete control of the group was out in the open. …
