The The Orb

"Asylum" is a single by The Orb from their 1997 album Orblivion. The single was released in two discs and featured remixes from artists including Thomas Fehlmann and Andrew Weatherall.

"The idea was simply to make an ambient album", Dr Alex Paterson has said of The Orb's new album entitled Chill Out, World!. With partner in crime Thomas Fehlmann, the duo resisted looking back and studying their earlier (seminal) recordings and opted for a more spontaneous approach: a focus on where they are at today in 2016. COW is said to have been completed over the course of five sessions in only six months, between a relentless touring schedule which they also credit as being hugely influential on the album's sound. As always, strap yourself in for an immersive sound experience and possibly expect to hear some of the more courageous DJs dropping likes likes of "4am Exhale (Chill Out, World!)" or perhaps "Just Because I Really Really Luv Ya". Oh and the track titles are as baffling as ever too.

A second set of previously unreleased material from The Orb camp, taking in a varied set of contributions from Paterson, Fehlmann, Roedelius and co. As with the previous Orbsessions collection, the packaging is impressively elaborate, which is only fitting for such lavishly produced electronic music. There's certainly nothing minimal about this material, opener 'D.A.D.O.E.S.?' is positively bristling with expansive, airy sonic texture and depth-charge bass plunges, serving as a nine-minute appetizer for the feast to come.

This is the glorious first volume of previously unreleased Orb treasures from Alex Paterson’s spherical archives, covering the first fifteen years of conspiracy and collaboration with some of the biggest names in electronic music including James Cauty, Andy Hughes, Thomas Fehlmann, Nina Walsh, Fil le Gonidec, Vincent Mcdonald, Guy Pratt, Dom Beken, Aki Mori and John Roome. This is the original version all beautifully packaged in the usual malicious stylee with holographic printing, bright and colourful inserts and unavailable anywhere else.

Electronica 2: The Heart of Noise is the fifteenth studio album of French electronic musician Jean Michel Jarre. It is the second of a two-part album (the first being Electronica 1: The Time Machine) that is based around collaborations with other electronic musicians from a wide range of decades and styles. Electronica 1 included artists such as Vince Clarke, Gesaffelstein, M83, Armin van Buuren, John Carpenter, 3D (of Massive Attack), Pete Townshend, Tangerine Dream, and others, while Electronica 2 is expected to include collaborations with Pet Shop Boys, Rone, Julia Holter, Primal Scream, Gary Numan, Hans Zimmer, Edward Snowden, Peaches, Sébastien Tellier, The Orb, Siriusmo, Yello, Jeff Mills, Cyndi Lauper and Christophe. In all, the two-album collaboration is expected to have as many as 30 collaborators, and Jarre has described it as his "most ambitious project."

The Ambient Collection is a 1990 compilation by British electronic group Art Of Noise. It highlights some of their softer moments throughout their China Records catalog and mixes them together.
