Formed in 2006 as an audio accompaniment to Mötley Crüe bassist Nikki Sixx's autobiography The Heroin Diaries, hard rock band Sixx: A.M. feature the talents of Sixx, vocalist James Michael, and DJ Ashba. The 13 tracks that make up The Heroin Diaries Soundtrack, the group's 2007 debut, coincide with the book's chapters, painting a surreal musical portrait that utilizes the over-the-top theatrics of '80s hair metal, spoken word pieces, electro-industrial beats, and the occasional burst of circus music to tell the tale of Sixx's rise to stardom and legendary fall from grace. The Heroin Diaries Soundtrack was released on Eleven Seven Records in August of 2007, spawning a gold-selling hit single with "Life Is Beautiful"…
As we entered into the second decade of the new millennium, the world was blessed with the birth of Pocket Size. You´re steppin´ through the door to a magical, musical universe. It´s all about vast sonic landscapes that penetrate the brain. On all levels. A progressive way of thinking, a progressive way of acting, a unifying progressive form of music that reaches out to everyone. You are invited to take part of the experience! As we had finished the last Pocket size album Exposed Undercurrents, I ended up there in a subconscious way. It had been a lot of hard work, stretching ideas to the limits and a little bit of artistic fatigue was present…
First of the Big Bands is a studio album by Tony Ashton of Ashton, Gardner and Dyke and Jon Lord of Deep Purple, released in April 1974 by Purple Records in the UK and Europe and Warner Bros. Records in the US. The project was Ashton's and Lord's brainchild and continuation of their working relationship after Ashton Gardner & Dyke helped out on Jon Lord's soundtrack album The Last Rebel from 1971. Stylistically, First of the Big Bands was the precursor to Paice Ashton Lord's Malice in Wonderland album from 1977. Most of the album was recorded at Air and Apple Studios, London, with additional work being completed at De Lane Lea and Island.
In June 2016 Heart made their first ever live appearance at London's famous Royal Albert Hall. To make the sold-out night even more special the band were accompanied by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra who added further depth and an epic scale to Heart's songs. The set included hits, fan favorite and both new and reinterpreted tracks from their most recent album Beautiful Broken. The chemistry between band and orchestra added a truly magical quality to a concert that will live long in the memory of those Heart fans lucky enough to be present.
