To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Stones’ 1967 psychedelic classic, comes this limited edition, remastered double-vinyl, double-CD deluxe package. The set contains both stereo and mono versions of the album, remastered at Abbey Road by Bob Ludwig, and presented on two 180-gram vinyl LPs and two Super Audio CDs (compatible with all players).

Lantern is named after a lantern I had as a child. The lantern created a magical moving world. I thought that one day my life would be like this, like the two figures in the lantern sitting by a fire that never goes out, near a river that keeps flowing, through a beautiful place. In fact, I have had moments like this because I keep seeking them, but they never last. They flicker out into turmoil, distraction, move away from the fire and the river and the constant setting sun. But the image of that lantern is still held in my mind. I thought that I could find this place, but I could never stay.

Released as 1967 was coming to an end, The Rolling Stones’ Their Satanic Majesties Request took a bold step away from the group’s blues and R&B roots, embracing psychedelia to keep the Summer Of Love going well into winter.
