With the original “Oh! My God” having been a surprise box office smash, a sequel was always going to be a distinct possibility. Now, viewers can get another comic dose of lovable rogue Im Jung Hwan as the follow up arrives, with director Kim Jung Woo having handed the reigns to newcomer Hwang Seung Jae. Needless to say, the film sees the return of top funny man Choi Sung Kook, who has risen to the top of his game thanks to roles in other popular comedies including “Sex is Zero” and “Master Kims”. This time, his romantic interest is played by the gorgeous Lee Young Eun (also “Summer Whispers”), who proves a suitable foil in another tale of daft schemes and amiable nonsense.

Humour and black metal sit uneasily together. Or, to clarify, they sit together uneasily for black metal fans. If you don’t like black metal, they sit together very well indeed. Those benighted ones excluded, though, I can almost feel the snorts of derision emanating from Metal Reviews visitors worldwide breezing angrily across the oceans. That title… Aren’t there enough unselfconscious goofballs in black metal already that we need self-conscious ones? Scanning the song names: Mind Da Gap, Working Poor, Yuppie Yeah!, Dance N’ Society? Why spoof a genre that has so comprehensively self-spoofed on more than one unfortunate occasion?

Ryuzaki, an editor of Muscle Magazine, which features photographs of men with sculpted bodies, becomes involved with a man named Kitami; their affair soon becomes dominated by sadomasochistic games, with a horrid result. Jump ahead one year, Ryuzaki is released from jail and goes in search of Kitami, perhaps to make amends. The films of Pasolini, especially "Salò," dominate Ryuzaki's imagination; he works sometimes at the Lunatic Theatre, which shows films about rough trade; and, he becomes involved with a couple into S & M. Will Ryuzaki find Kitami, and what will happen if he does?

Andrew Largeman is a semi-successful television actor who plays a retarded quarterback.
