After his affair with jazz fusion (Waka/Jawaka and The Grand Wazoo, both released in 1972), Frank Zappa came back in late 1973 with an album of simple rock songs, Over-Nite Sensation. But the temptation for more challenging material was not long to resurface and, after a transitional LP (Apostrophe, early 1974), he unleashed a double LP (reissued on one CD) of his most complex music, creating a bridge between his comedy rock stylings and Canterbury-style progressive rock. Three-quarters of the album was recorded live at the Roxy in Hollywood and extensively overdubbed in the studio later.

Solveig Slettahjell was one such artist welcomed back into ACT label's fold. The ACT label released her early albums, establishing her international reputation as one of Europe’s leading jazz vocalists. Here she was partnered up with In The Country, the piano trio involving her close friend Morton Qvenild, pianist, sonic explorer and also a member of Solveig Slettahjell‘s Slow Motion ensembles. The real surprise that evening, however, came from adding the blues guitarist Knut Reiersrud. He had been on Siggi Loch's radar for quite some time, and on this occasion was having his first ever meeting with Slettahjell and her crew. It turned out to be an ideal combination. The evening was a celebration of everything that had made the Nordic sound so attractive and successful for many decades. On the one hand there was the elegiac, bluesy side, inspired by the spirit of indigenous folk music; on the other the electronic, the rhythmically daring and the experimental.

is an American comic book series created by Warren Ellis (writer) and John Cassaday (artist), published by the Wildstorm imprint of DC Comics. Planetary also refers to the group portrayed in the series. Planetary was previewed in the September 1998 issues of Gen¹³ (#33) and C-23 (#6), and issue #1 was cover-dated April 1999. It was originally intended to be a 24-issue bi-monthly series. However due to illness of Ellis and other commitments by Cassaday, the series was put on hiatus between 2001 and 2003; it has since restarted and concluded with issue #27 in October of 2009. Laura Martin (also credited as Laura DePuy) has colored almost every issue of the series. When the first issue came out, Clinton was still president of the United States; not that anybody who has patiently waited through all these years has any reason to complain, because this series is, to quote almost everyone who has read it, "so damn good." If it were published more or less regularly, then it would have walked away with so many Eisners. Suffice it to say that this series compilation is one of those the serious comic buff would want to collect, even if only in digital form. IGN calls Planetary "one of the smartest and cleverest pieces of science fiction of all time" and then gave the last and final Issue #27 an "Incredible" 9.5 Rating and its top Editor's Choice Award for the comics week of october 7, 2009. That's better than "Outstanding" and that's about as high a rating as any comic book could ever get.

Much as the current Allman Brothers lineup had coalesced in 2003, the ensemble that came together in 1989 for the twentieth anniversary box set Dreams (Polydor, 1989) tour had tightened considerably (minus keyboardist /vocalist Johnny Neel) by the time they decided to engage in their first extended run at New York's Beacon Theatre and record themselves for a live album. "Play All Night: Live At the Beacon Theatre" consists of performances captured on March 10 & 11 in 1992 and over the course of its two discs, effectively supplants the concert pieces of that era captured on "An Evening With".

This five-CD box set collects all five of the Dave Brubeck Quartet's Time series recordings: Time Out, Time Further Out, Countdown: Time in Outer Space, Time Changes, and Time In, with bonus material attached to three of the discs. Of this quintet of recordings, the latter three have never been available on CD in the United States. Recorded between 1959 and 1965, each of these titles has a distinct relationship to "time travel" in the context of jazz. Brubeck, Paul Desmond, and company were consciously trying to extend the time-space continuum in jazz, and erase the boundaries of imposed four/four signatures in the idiom…

Fresh from a run of successful albums and tours with The Pineapple Thief, multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and frontman Bruce Soord began recording his second solo album in April 2019; and in a rich vein of creativity he produced a fine successor to 2016 debut Bruce Soord. The new album, All This Will Be Yours, builds on Soord's momentum gained by TPT's multiple headline Europe and UK tours in support of 2018 UK #1 Rock album Dissolution and 2016 summer hit album Your Wilderness. Dissolution also reached #22 in the German album chart, #4 in the Netherlands Platomania album chart and #14 in the Finland album chart. A prolific musician, Soord has also previously collaborated with Katatonias Jonas Renkse on fan-favourite album Wisdom of Crowds and produced 5.1 mixes for the likes of Katatonia, Opeth & Anathema.
