With a total of 40 Pop chart hits, Dionne Warwick's recordings for the Scepter label rank as arguably the most successful run of any artist - and certainly of any female artist - for an independent label during the 1960s. But all that success had a downside for her considerable legacy: Scepter became a hot property for acquisition, and as a result the label's holdings were bought and sold several times before Dionne herself arranged to buy her own masters back. By that time, though, the Scepter tapes had been scattered in disarray, thus leaving a lot of material in limbo and causing compilers to throw up their hands. Well, where other reissue labels fear to tread Real Gone Music goes full speed ahead! Odds & Ends - Scepter Records Rarities offers 26 hard-to-find tracks (plus some bonus promo spots) from the Scepter vaults, including rare alternate versions.

"Perception" is an album by flugelhorn player Art Farmer's Quartet, featuring performances recorded in 1961 and originally released on the Argo label. This was Farmer's second album as leader for Argo, and the first recording on which he played only flugelhorn. The three other musicians were all part of the Jazztet, a sextet that Farmer co-led.

"In the City" is the 3rd studio album by American soul/R&B group Tavares, released in 1975 on the Capitol label. The album peaked at #8 on the R&B albums chart. It also reached #26 on the Billboard 200. The album features the singles "It Only Takes a Minute", which peaked at #1 on the Hot Soul Singles chart and #10 on the Billboard Hot 100, The Edgar Winter Group's "Free Ride", which charted at #8 on the Hot Soul Singles chart and #52 on the Billboard Hot 100, and "The Love I Never Had", which reached #11 on the Hot Soul Singles chart.

It was only during Ken Vandermark's residency at the Jazz club The Stone in January 2016 that Vandermark found himself in the same vicinity as Nate Wooley, Sylvie Courvoisier and Tom Rainey. A year later they went into the studio with nine compositions – three each by Courvoisier, Vandermark and Wooley.

2018 will see the release of FM's eleventh studio album, "Atomic Generation" and plenty of touring, including their first-ever USA appearance in May - headlining MelodicRock Fest 5 in Chicago, IL. FM will also headline at the sister festival MelodicRock Fest Scandinavia in June and have been confirmed for Frontiers Rock Festival in April. To kick off the year FM will appear at Giants of Rock festival in Minehead in January with more UK dates underway.

"Love & Understanding" is the 7th studio album by the funk band Kool & the Gang, released in 1976. The album had mild success. Three tracks, "Hollywood Swinging", "Summer Madness" and "Universal Sound" were recorded live at the Rainbow Theatre in London, England. The song "Summer Madness" was used in the motion picture Rocky as radio background during a scene in Rocky's home. It is also featured in the soundtrack of the videogame Tony Hawk's Project 8, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, and in a Nike commercial. "Hollywood Swinging" is featured in the soundtrack of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.
