Winterland 12/16/78 is previously unheard save for the inclusion of “Fire” on Live 1975/85, and captures the exhilarating second show in San Francisco, newly mixed from Plangent Processed, multi-track master tapes by Jon Altschiller. Bruce loosens up and reshapes the previous night’s broadcast set, opening in high spirits via “Good Rockin’ Tonight,” giving a tour debut to the infectious “Rendezvous,” summoning a deeply affecting “Independence Day” and absolutely crushing the top of the second set with “(It’s Hard To Be A) Saint In The City.”

In 1978, legendary San Francisco Punk Rock Band The Dead Kennedys were formed and the rest is history. They became one of the iconic bands of the US Punk Rock revolution and recorded seminal punk classics "Holiday In Cambodia" and "California Uber Alles," as well as many others that have become synonymous with Punk Rock itself. Manifesto Records is proud to announce that on September 27, they will release a CD of the Iguana Studios Rehearsal Tape- San Francisco 1978. This is the beginnings of the Dead Kennedys, the original recordings from their early rehearsals that would lead to their classic recordings. This collection was previously only available as a limited edition, Record Store Day only LP. It was very successful and actually charted on the Billboard top sellers list, but the demand from fans was overwhelming to release this on CD.

Conductor and orchestra leader George Melachrino charted his only non-seasonal Top 40 long-player with 1958's Old West-themed Under Western Skies. According to the original album jacket notes, one primary inspiration for this dozen-song collection was the proliferation of cowboy programs or as they were concurrently referred to, "horse operas" that had all but taken over the then-burgeoning medium of television. Melachrino's sonic animation is stunning throughout, as he brings to life traditional folk and country & western numbers, along with some of his own pieces. Unlike the popular "space-age bachelor pad" and the aural exotica of Enoch Light and Martin Denny, Melachrino's interpretations are prudently and comparatively conservative.

O.C. Smith at Home was the finest showcase for the singer's warm, baritone vocals. Produced by Jerry Fuller, the LP's songs revolved around home and heart. The LP cover featured the singer walking with a little boy. The second single, the rousing, dynamic "Daddy's Little Man," hit Billboard's charts in fall 1969. Its flip side was the driving, horn-accented soap opera-themed "If I Leave You Now." The lushly orchestrated "The Learning Tree" was the opening title theme of the family drama movie directed by Gordon Parks. "Friend, Lover, Woman, Wife" cracked the R&B Top 25. All of this musical magic was wrapped up in the great arrangements of H.B. Barnum. Some of the LP tracks appeared on his O.C. Smith's Greatest Hits.
