Often compared to the likes of Tori Amos for her fairy esthetic and classical roots, Tom Waits for her dark and literary lyrics, and Carole King for her Tin Pan Alley Pop sensibility - Upstate NY native, Amanda Rogers, has continued her nearly 20 year musical journey on her self-paved career path as an original and independent touring and recording artist. With her latest 10th album release, Heavy Blue, Multiple international tours solo or with full band, notable press, recognition for a song reaching the International Top 100 billboard charts, numerous co-writes and guest appearances, song placements on networks such as the Discovery channel and MTV, and a list of musical celebrity fans that are all name-dropper worthy, she still maintains her desire to evolve as a Singer-Songwriter without boundaries while remaining "uncompromisingly d.i.y".

If you don't mind shorter versions of some of your favorite songs, this is a nice album to own. Many hit songs from 1965 from You've Lost That Loving Feeling to Help Me, Rhonda and Hey Mr. Tambourine Man, you'll love hearing these songs again that you grew up to. They have staying power, which I can't say for much of what passes for music today. Yes, I'm showing my age. Billboard early years is always a good bet.

One of the quintessential '80s teen pop stars, Tiffany transformed her massive early success into an enduring career as a working musician and pop culture fixture decades later. She helped shape the sound of late-'80s pop music with the hit singles "I Think We're Alone Now" and "Could've Been" and her quadruple-platinum self-titled 1987 full-length, which made her the youngest female artist to top the Billboard chart with a debut album. Tiffany's success was also influential: not only did she give mega-popular boy band New Kids on the Block a boost at the beginning of their career, but the shopping-mall performances that kick-started her rise became a promotional strategy later used by Britney Spears and Taylor Swift.
