Witchwood were born in 2014 from the ashes of Buttered Bacon Biscuits. Debut album "Litanies From The Woods" (2015) is the result of 2 years of songwriting, long and hard rehearsals and recording sessions and features ten tracks (78 minutes) and it is a long journey from 70’s hard rock, to progressive, psych, southern rock and blues. Got very excellent acceptance from public and press, both in and outside Italy, which allowed a strong promotional-push. Rightly Witchwood were considered one of the best bands from the new "retro-rock" wave. One year later the acclaimed debut Witchwood came back with "Handful Of Stars" the right way to celebrate the appreciations received for the debut album, to introduce the new guitar player Antonino Stella, appreciated session man and long time Ricky's friend…

New Wave of British Heavy Metal band Demon were known for their shocking and elaborate performances (quite unique, considering the no-fuss, stripped-down philosophy characteristic of the movement), but never sounded as extreme as their name might suggest. Instead, they forged a mainstream hard rock/metal style, which, though it didn't stand out from the pack, has managed to keep them in business for several decades. Singer Dave Hill and guitarist Mal Spooner had already cut their teeth with various amateur acts in their native Staffordshire, England, by the time they decided to join forces and found Demon midway through 1980.
Two pianos sounding in tandem can feel – given that the instrument belongs to the percussion family – like a kind of 176-key gamelan, an atmospheric orchestra ringing and resonating and radiating in unity. In that way, the music of How to Turn the Moon by pianists Angelica Sanchez and Marilyn Crispell vibrates with a special, luminous quality. In composing all the pieces for this album, Angelica was inspired by Marilyn’s ever-questing sound and sensibility, as well as the uncommon rapport they share as players and as people.
Somewhere there exists an alternate reality in which the cinema, the old cinema, was never eroded by television — a world where teenage lovers still flee small towns for ninety minutes at a time to revel in the extravagant fantasies of the silver screen, movie theatre marquees on every block beckoning with the warm glow of incandescent bulbs & titles that evoke the mysteries found therein. Here the movies still bear the faint edge of danger & the unknown, the erotic thrill of a dream, everything raining color. Closer to Grey is the soundtrack of that world. A Technicolor epic in mellotron & theremin, organ & celeste. It sounds like a reverie — a communiqué from a more romantic place.
