Although Autobahn was a left-field masterpiece, Trans-Europe Express is often cited as perhaps the archetypal (and most accessible) Kraftwerk album. Melodic themes are repeated often and occasionally interwoven over deliberate, chugging beats, sometimes with manipulated vocals; the effect is mechanical yet hypnotic…
Trans Am is a band that has never compromised. Originally from North Bethesda, Maryland, Trans Am is considered fathers of the instrumental post-rock sound of the 1990s. Since then the band - Phil Manley, Sebastian Thomson and Nathan Means - has added vocals and spanned genres from metal to house to progressive rock. They exploited Casio keyboards for cacophonous lo-fi sounds. They played fully electronic sets when most of their contemporaries were sticking exclusively to guitars. They pioneered early millennium fad Electroclash. Today, they continue to set their own course. On California Hotel, Trans Am borrowed ideas from My Bloody Valentine, John Carpenter, DAF, Led Zeppelin, Air, Sade and David Gilmore, among others. The result is an incredibly rich range of sounds that retain a pulsating energy.
As the Seventies faded into the Eighties, Top of the Pops approached its 1000th episode, MTV launched in America, and kids across Britain were falling in love with pop music away from the TV, through a small little box called a Walkman. Back from their interstellar journey, Erik van Vliet and Michel van der Kuy once again present a brand new album to Italo Disco & Space Synth fans! After their celebrated comeback "Force Of Order" of 2016, now the "Trans Space Exprpess" is approaching. Already in the 80 s, Laserdance had huge success with their Space Synthesizer Disco Sound (e.g. « Humanoid Invasion », « Powerrun »). In 2016, after 16 years of silence, they celebrated a much noticed comeback. Thanks to the overwhelming feedback, they decided to continue with another album! For their fans, this album is an absolute MUST HAVE anyway! It also warmly recommended to fans of Jean Michel Jarre, Vangelis, Kebu and similar artists!
The result of an association of various big names in the art-rock business, or to put it in other words, masterful veterans full of experience and ability in the creation of good music (prog, jazz-rock and otherwise), it is no wonder that the humorous name DISTINGUISHED PANEL OF EXPERTS also happens to be a perfectly accurate label for this quartet of bassist Mike SARY (consistent leader of FRENCH TV)…
