Transmission Impossible classic FM concert recordings broadcast in the 70s, the 80's & the 90's. This spectacular 3xCD set features some of the finest live shows ever performed by Fleetwood Mac! Formed in London in 1967, Fleetwood Mac have gone through as many personnel changes across the last 50 years as any band from that era still in existence. And although two members from the start still remain on board in the shape of Mick Fleetwood and John McVie, and Christine Perfect (later McVie s wife, after which she adopted his name) joined in 69, the biggest change came when Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham joined Mac in 1975. This spectacular 3 x CD set features some of the finest live shows ever performed by Fleetwood Mac, kicking off with a performance the newly-augmented band gave in December 1977 in Tokyo, Japan, some 10 months after the release of their classic Rumours LP.
The first disc here includes the group’s performance at the intimate Ebbets Field venue in Denver Colorado, recorded on 19th July 1973, just a few months after the release of Dixie Chicken, arguably Little Feat’s most cherished album. Next up comes the 1974 in-studio recording they made for transmission at New York’s Ultrasound Studios on 19th September that year, shortly after Feats Don’t Fail Me Now came out, another favourite LP among those in the know. Finally, the set concludes with one of the most famous gigs they ever performed, the 1975 Halloween show from Boston’s majestic Orpheum Theatre, a recording made a month before The Last Record Album was issued.
SUPERB THREE DISC SET FEATURING RARE LIVE & STUDIO RECORDINGS FROM THE 60s, THE 70s & THE 90s. Originally formed way back in 1958, the Bee Gees worked in so many styles and guises through their extraordinary career that there can barely be a music fan alive who doesn t appreciate at least some of their work. There is of course, also, the vast majority who appreciate nearly all of it, such was the supreme ability of the Brothers Gibb to compose and perform one of the most joyous and exceptional back catalogues in musical history. And this 3 CD Set, which features live and studio recordings made for radio and TV broadcast at various points in their career, is directed loudly and proudly at just such a fan. Featuring, on Disc One, tracks recorded for BBC Transmission on the (then) newly formed Radio One in 1967 and 1968, Disc Two continues with a show the group recorded for the soundstage programme in 1975, made shortly before the Bee Gees became one of the most famous and cherished pop groups in the world during the disco boom of the late decade. Concluding this collection, Disc Three contains the brothers VH1 Storytellers set, recorded for both TV and Radio broadcast in 1998.
3CDs OF INVALUABLE ZAPPA BROADCASTS. INCLUDES SETS FROM HIS 1973 TOUR, COMPILED BY THE MAN HIMSELF. This triple CD features three rare recordings, all originally broadcast on FM radio, and now available here in this superb fold out digipack set. Featuring performances made at; Central Park, New York in 1968, with the original Mothers Of Invention (and featuring numbers from both the early and late sets on the day in question); from the TV & simultaneous radio transmission from Udel in Holland in 1970 (the first live show by the second incarnation of the Mothers, and featuring Flo & Eddie in the ranks) and, on the third CD, a collection of live performances from Zappa s 1973 tour, from a tape put together by Frank himself and broadcast on New Year s Eve 1974. The tracks and shows represented on this set illustrate the spectrum of Zappa and his various groups live abilities across the first decade of the man s career, and in so doing reveal a quite fascinating trajectory of Frank Zappa's live work.
3 X CD SET OF CLASSIC DOORS BROADCAST RECORDINGS Both unique and controversial, The Doors remain among the most influential rock acts of the 1960s, largely because of Jim Morrison's lyrics and charismatic but unpredictable stage persona. After Morrison's death in 1971, the remaining members continued as a trio until disbanding in 1973- it s no secret that bereft of their former front-man the group became somewhat pedestrian. This triple disc box set collects together live performances by The Doors from the period during which they were extraordinary in the extreme. Featuring two individual shows from 1970 recorded for live broadcast in Detroit and Seattle, plus a third disc containing performances recorded for television transmission between 1966 and 1968, this set is among the finest collection of live Doors recordings yet released.
